The packaging can be reused with appropriate handling and without visible damage, but always only in compliance with basic hygiene rules. Before each new filling, it is necessary to thoroughly clean the bottle and the cap and then disinfect them, for example using isopropyl alcohol or ethanol suitable for disinfecting surfaces. For this purpose, you can use the products IPA 99% isopropyl alcohol or Ethanol 96% denatured plant-based. Only after complete drying can the packaging be refilled. If the packaging shows signs of damage, deformation or changes in the clarity of the material, we recommend not using it further for cosmetic formulations and placing it in recycling according to the type of plastic indicated in the product parameters.

If the product parameters state that the bottle is made of PET, it is important to follow the recommended conditions of use. PET material should not be exposed to high temperatures, for example during boiling or long-term heating near heat sources, as there is a risk of deformation of the packaging and deterioration of its mechanical stability. Such packaging is not suitable for washing in a dishwasher or for boiling – for cleaning and disinfection, prefer gentle hand washing in lukewarm water with a mild detergent and subsequent disinfection with alcohol. With correct use and storage at room temperature, the PET packaging remains stable and functional for a longer period of time.

Before the first filling and between repeated uses, we recommend first mechanically cleaning the packaging from dust and residues, then washing it with lukewarm water and a mild detergent and rinsing thoroughly. After complete rinsing, an important step is the disinfection of the inner surface and the cap in order to minimise the risk of microbial contamination. For disinfection, it is appropriate to use alcohol-based preparations, for example IPA 99% isopropyl alcohol or Ethanol 96% denatured plant-based, which are left in the bottle to act briefly and then the packaging is left to dry freely with the neck downwards. Only after the inner surface is completely dry is it appropriate to refill the bottle with the prepared product.

If you decide not to use the bottle further, we recommend placing it in separate recycling according to the information given in the parameter table for the product (type of plastic and corresponding recycling designation). Before placing it in separate collection, it is advisable to empty the packaging, rinse any remaining product with water and separate parts made of different materials (for example, the label or another type of plastic on the cap), if possible. Then place the bottle in the container intended for the given type of plastic according to local recycling rules. By doing so, you reduce the amount of waste and support the efficient processing of used packaging.

When choosing, we also recommend checking the compatibility with caps or dispensers given in the parameters of the specific packaging.

The suitability for use with more concentrated or chemically more demanding formulations depends on the type of plastic and the specific composition of the product. Before definitively including this bottle in production, we recommend preparing a smaller test batch and monitoring the behaviour of the material – change in colour, clarity, softening of the walls, deformation or changes in the area of the cap. If the product contains a high proportion of solvents (for example alcohol, certain types of strong surfactants or essential oils), it is important to verify compatibility for at least several days to weeks. In case of any doubts, it is advisable to choose packaging with a material recommended for the given type of formulation according to the product parameters in the e-shop.
