Plastic bottle, clear, matte white flip-top, 250 ml

A plastic bottle with a matte white flip-top is a ready-to-use package for 250 ml of liquid cosmetics dispensed directly into the palm: shampoos, shower gels, liquid soaps, conditioners and body lotions. The bottle is made of PET, a lightweight and shatter-resistant plastic. It is therefore suitable for the bathroom, the shower and travel, where glass would be impractical.

The transparent wall lets you see the colour of the contents and how much product remains. The flip-top cap opens with one hand and snaps shut to close the dispensing opening, so it does not need to be unscrewed during use.

Which products is the package suitable for

• Shampoos, shower gels and liquid soaps – thicker contents are dispensed by gently squeezing the bottle through the small opening, without spillage.
• Conditioners and body lotions – liquid to medium-viscosity emulsions flow through the opening smoothly; very thick creams and butters are better suited to a jar.
• Body and massage oils – the narrow opening makes it easier to dispense smaller amounts.
• Tonics and micellar waters – thin liquids flow out faster and are dispensed onto a cotton pad by tilting the bottle.

Both the bottle and cap are suitable for contact with cosmetic products; the declaration of conformity is available with the product. The food-contact certificate applies to the plastic bottle alone — the package as a whole is intended for cosmetics.

Dispensing and closing the flip-top

The flip-top is a screw-on cap with a hinged lid that closes the dispensing opening when snapped shut. Contents are dispensed by turning the bottle upside down and squeezing gently; for thin liquids, tilting is sufficient.

Nominal and total volume

The nominal volume of 250 ml is the quantity the bottle is designed for under normal filling. The total brim-full volume is slightly larger, as it includes the space in the neck. This difference serves as a reserve for the cap and for expansion of the contents with temperature changes. The bottle should therefore be filled to the nominal volume, not to the brim.

What to know before filling

Packaging preparation. Before first filling, the bottle and cap are washed with warm water and detergent and rinsed thoroughly. They are then disinfected with 70 % ethanol or isopropyl alcohol (IPA) and left to dry completely. Residual moisture in the packaging unnecessarily burdens the preservation of the product.

Material sensitivity. The bottle is intended for finished cosmetic products. Aggressive chemicals, strong solvents, undiluted essential oils and concentrated fragrance compositions are not suitable for it.

Light. Clear PET does not protect the contents from light, so it is advisable to store the filled bottle out of direct sunlight.

Labelling. The label is applied to a dry and degreased surface, ideally before filling or after thoroughly wiping the bottle. The dimensions required for label design are listed in the product parameters.
