Product description

The 1000 ml plastic bottle with trigger sprayer is a ready-to-use complete set for filling larger volumes of liquid preparations applied by spraying. It consists of a clear round plastic bottle with a 28/410 neck and a white trigger sprayer with the same thread, so there is nothing extra to buy or test for cap compatibility. The transparent wall lets you check the fill level at any time, the plastic is lightweight, and it will not shatter if dropped.

The set is suitable wherever a larger volume of a preparation is used up quickly and convenient dispensing is needed: tonics and hair waters for professional or home use, room and fabric freshener solutions, plant care sprays, as well as cleaning and disinfecting solutions in a workshop or household. The set is declared as suitable for contact with cosmetics. The bottle alone holds a food-contact certificate; the set as a whole is intended for cosmetic and technical use.

How the set works

  • Trigger sprayer – operated by squeezing the trigger with the fingers, which is more comfortable with a larger volume than a small button on a standard sprayer. One press releases a dose of approximately 0.75 ml, making it suitable for even distribution over a larger surface area.
  • Dip tube reaching to the bottom – the sprayer draws from the very bottom of the bottle, so the last remnants can be emptied without tilting.
  • Clear bottle – the contents and fill level are visible at all times, which helps with dosing and knowing when to refill.
  • Round shape – the bottle is comfortable to hold even when full and has no edges where dirt could accumulate.

Nominal and total volume

The stated volume of 1000 ml is the nominal volume, i.e. the quantity the bottle is designed for under normal filling conditions. The total brim capacity is larger, as the bottle has physical space up to the neck. This difference provides a reserve for the sprayer dip tube and for expansion of the contents with temperature changes. The bottle should therefore be filled to the nominal volume, not to the brim. Overfilling may cause the contents to be pushed out when attaching the sprayer.

When filling, leave free headspace above the liquid and screw on the sprayer slowly so the dip tube displaces air rather than liquid. Before first use, press the trigger several times dry until the dip tube is primed.

Suitable for products such as

  • Water-based and hydrosol preparations – facial and body tonics, refreshing sprays, hair waters with lower viscosity. The sprayer works reliably with thin liquids.
  • Household and workshop solutions – cleaning agents, degreasers, plant spray solutions. The larger volume and generous dose are put to best use here.
  • Light oil sprays – thin oils can be sprayed, though they tend to dispense in a stream rather than a fine mist. Verify dispensing performance with thicker oils before use.

Thicker preparations such as creams, gels, and high-viscosity emulsions will not pass through a trigger sprayer or will clog it. For these we recommend jars, pots, or pump-fitted bottles.

Preparation, filling, and reuse

Before the first fill, wash and disinfect both the bottle and the sprayer with izopropylalkohol or etanol and allow to dry completely. Once empty, the set can be washed and reused. Rinse the sprayer with clean water and pump it several times to flush the tube and nozzle as well. Residue left in the nozzle dries out and impairs spraying.

Always label the bottle with its contents and the filling date, especially if the set is used for more than one type of preparation.

The plastic may not withstand preparations with a high proportion of essential oils, concentrated solvents, or strong alcohol solutions. Before filling with such contents, we recommend testing the behaviour of both the bottle and the sprayer seal with a small quantity first.

Good to know

  • Light protection – the clear bottle does not protect the contents from light. Preparations sensitive to light, such as those with a higher content of vitamins or plant extracts, should be stored in a dark container or kept away from direct sunlight.
  • Preservation of contents – water-based preparations in this size are used up over a longer period and must therefore be properly preserved. The sprayer is not an airtight system and does not replace a preservative.
  • Heat – do not fill the plastic bottle with hot liquids. Allow the contents to cool to room temperature before filling.
  • Closures with the same neck – other closures with a 28/410 thread from the Handymade range are also compatible with this bottle. When using your own combination, we recommend verifying the seal integrity and dosing with your specific formulation.

Frequently asked questions

Is the 1000 ml plastic bottle with trigger sprayer suitable for food?
The set as a whole is not approved for food contact. The food-contact certificate applies to the bottle alone; the trigger sprayer does not carry this declaration. If you need a container for home-made oils, syrups, or infusions, use a bottle with a closure that is declared for food use. The complete set is intended for cosmetics and technical preparations.
What preparations can be sprayed through the 28/410 trigger sprayer?
Best suited are thin water-based liquids: tonics, hydrosol sprays, hair waters, cleaning and disinfecting solutions, plant sprays. Light oils can be dispensed but tend to come out in a stream rather than a mist. Creams, gels, and thick emulsions will not pass through the sprayer and would clog the nozzle.
Does the clear plastic bottle protect the contents from light?
No, the clear bottle does not protect the contents from light. It is suitable for preparations that are not light-sensitive, or for those that are used up quickly. For light-sensitive preparations we recommend amber or blue glass, or storing the spray bottle away from direct sunlight.
Why is the 1000 ml bottle filled only to the nominal volume and not to the brim?
The nominal volume is the quantity the bottle is designed for. Above it, headspace is reserved for the sprayer dip tube and for expansion of the contents with temperature changes. If you overfill the bottle, some of the contents will be pushed out when screwing on the sprayer, and temperature changes may cause pressure on the closure.
Can the plastic bottle with sprayer be washed and reused?
Yes, the set is designed for repeated use. Wash the bottle, disinfect it with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol, and allow it to dry. Rinse the sprayer with clean water and press the trigger several times to clean the dip tube and nozzle. When switching to a different type of preparation, ensure thorough rinsing so that residues do not mix.
Is the trigger sprayer suitable for alcohol-based tonics?
At a lower alcohol content the sprayer works without issue. With concentrated alcohol solutions and preparations with a high essential oil content, we recommend testing the behaviour of the plastic and the seal with a small quantity first. The material may change with prolonged contact with strong solvents, which can affect the seal and spray performance.
