Plastic bottle, dropper bottle, pump black, 200 ml is a ready-made set for dispensing liquid cosmetics. It consists of a brown PET dropper-shaped bottle with a 28/410 neck and a black pump with the same thread, so the set just needs to be filled and screwed on. The brown plastic reduces light exposure to the contents and PET is lightweight and shatter-resistant, making the set suitable for the shower, washbasin and travel.

The set is intended for cosmetics. The volume of 200 ml corresponds to standard packaging for body lotion, shampoo, shower gel, liquid soap, conditioner or massage oil. The pump dispenses the contents without unscrewing, so the product is less contaminated by hands and air, which is especially appreciated with water-based formulations.

What the set is suitable for

It works best with products of low to medium viscosity that the pump can draw up easily: body and face lotions, light emulsions, shampoos, shower gels, liquid soaps, conditioners, micellar waters, massage oils and oil serums. For thick creams, butters or scrubs with particles, the pump is not suitable – the contents cannot be drawn up or the mechanism would clog. With very thin water-based products such as tonics, bear in mind that the dose may drip slightly from the pump. For these, a sprayer with the same neck is more practical.

Nominal and total volume

The nominal volume is the quantity the packaging is designed for during normal filling. The total volume to the brim is the physical volume of the bottle up to the neck and is always slightly larger. The difference provides a reserve for the dip tube and body of the pump, which when screwed on push part of the contents upward, and for the expansion of the product with temperature change. Fill the bottle to the nominal volume, not to the brim. If filled right up to the neck, the product would be pushed out when the pump is attached and leakage through the thread would be likely.

Good to know

Preparation before filling. Rinse a new container before first use, disinfect if needed with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol and allow to dry completely. Moisture in the bottle would dilute the product and, in water-based formulations, place a burden on the preservation system. Press the pump several times empty before use to bleed the mechanism and start drawing up.

Filling temperature. PET is not designed for hot filling. Allow emulsions, gels and liquid soaps to cool to room temperature before filling, otherwise the plastic may deform and the bottle may lose its shape.

Material sensitivity. PET handles water-based products, emulsions, surfactant formulations and common vegetable oils well. With formulations containing a higher proportion of essential oils, alcohol or solvents, we recommend checking the container's behaviour with the specific formulation – the plastic may soften or become cloudy over time. The PP pump is resistant to common cosmetic ingredients.

Repeated use. Both the bottle and the pump can be reused if thoroughly washed and allowed to dry. Rinse the pump by pressing it several times in warm water and then empty, until the remaining product is expelled from the mechanism.

Contact with food and cosmetics. The set is declared suitable for contact with cosmetic products. The plastic bottle has a food-contact certification separately; the pump does not, so the set as a whole is not intended for food use.

Recycling. The bottle is made of PET and the pump of PP – separate them when sorting waste.
