Product description
A clear 100 ml PET bottle and a black mini trigger sprayer with a silver matte collar make up a set for toners, hydrosols and mists that are applied by spraying. You can see through the wall how much product is left and whether anything has settled in it. The plastic is light and shatterproof, which suits carrying it in a bag, using it in the bathroom and sending out samples.
The set is designed for thin, water-like contents: facial and body toners, mists, hydrosols, hair sprays and alcohol-based toners. Both the bottle and the sprayer are declared suitable for contact with cosmetic products, and the declarations of conformity are provided with the product.
What it is suitable for
- Facial and body toners – water-based solutions with active ingredients are applied evenly with the sprayer and without touching them with your hands.
- Hydrosols and mists – the 100 ml volume matches a common size for home use and for sale.
- Hair sprays and spray-on conditioners – if their consistency is close to water, the sprayer disperses them over the hair without dripping.
- Alcohol-based toners – with a higher alcohol content, check how the packaging behaves with your specific formulation.
- Samples and travel packs – the clear wall shows the contents and the shatterproof material withstands transport.
Volume and filling
The nominal volume of the bottle is 100 ml, and the packaging is designed for this volume under normal filling. The brimful capacity, that is, the physical volume up to the neck, is larger and you will find it in the parameters. The difference provides room for the dip tube of the sprayer and for the air above the liquid level. For this reason, fill the bottle up to the nominal volume. If it is overfilled, part of the contents is pushed out through the neck when the sprayer is screwed on.
Before the first filling, wash the bottle and the sprayer, rinse them with alcohol and leave them to dry completely. Flush the sprayer by placing its dip tube in clean water or alcohol and pressing it several times.
How the sprayer works
The mini trigger sprayer draws the contents up through the dip tube and, when pressed, disperses them into fine droplets. After screwing it onto a freshly filled bottle, press the head several times without product until the dip tube and the mechanism fill and the spray becomes even. It works best with liquids that have a water-like consistency. Thick emulsions, gels and oils spray poorly or clog the mechanism. If the formulation contains undissolved particles, for example residues of plant material, filter it before filling.
The silver matte collar is made of aluminium, and the rest of the sprayer is made of PP plastic. For cleaning and repeated use, it is handled in the same way as an all-plastic sprayer.
Good to know
Clear plastic does not protect the contents from light. Store light-sensitive products, for example those with essential oils or with certain active ingredients, away from direct sunlight, or choose dark packaging for them. For toners and mists that are used up within weeks, this difference usually does not matter.
PET is sensitive to heat. Do not pour hot solutions into the bottle; let the contents cool before filling. The bottle is also not suitable for sterilisation by boiling.
Do not expose the packaging to aggressive chemicals. For products with a high proportion of essential oils or solvents, test beforehand whether the plastic softens, turns cloudy or changes shape. Also check the tightness and the evenness of the spray with your specific formulation, as the behaviour differs depending on the viscosity and surface tension of the contents.
The bottle has a 24/410 neck finish. If the sprayer later does not suit you, you will find other closures with the same neck type, as well as ready-made combinations, in the Handymade range. When making your own combination, always check the tightness and the dispensing.
Once empty, the packaging can be washed and refilled. For recycling, the bottle goes with plastics as PET; the sprayer is unscrewed and sorted separately, as it combines PP plastic with an aluminium collar.
