Rounded Clear Plastic Bottle, Golden Pump, 100 ml

This plastic bottle with a pump holds 100 ml and dispenses body lotion, liquid soap or shampoo with a single press, without your fingers touching the contents. It suits liquid and semi-liquid cosmetic products that are taken in small doses: face emulsion, a light serum or hair care products in a smaller pack. The clear PET shows the colour and level of the contents and does not break if dropped. The black and gold pump with a 24/410 neck finish dispenses approximately 1 ml per press, so the contents are used up evenly.

The set is declared suitable for contact with cosmetic products. It is not approved for contact with food, so do not use it in the kitchen for oils or syrups.

What it is suitable for

• Body lotion and hand cream – the pump handles emulsions of medium thickness that still move when the bottle is tilted. Thick ointment-like balms and solid creams will not pass through the tube.
• Liquid soap and cleansing gels – one dose corresponds to approximately one hand wash.
• Serums and light face emulsions – for formulations that are stable in light. Light-sensitive active ingredients are better kept in dark glass.
• Hair care products in travel size – shampoo, liquid conditioner or a hair serum with lower viscosity.

Filling and volume

Nominal volume is the amount the bottle is designed for under normal filling. The brimful volume is larger, and the difference leaves room for the pump tube and for the contents to expand with changes in temperature. Fill only up to the nominal volume. A bottle filled to the brim will overflow when the pump is screwed on, and when the pump is pressed the contents are also forced out around the thread.

Before the first filling, wash the bottle and the pump, spray them with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol and leave them to dry completely.

Working with the pump

After screwing it on, prime the pump with several presses until the tube fills and the first dose comes out in full. Formulations with a consistency ranging from liquid soap to body lotion are dispensed most smoothly. Very thin contents, for example pure vegetable oils or aqueous toners, are pushed out by the pump, but the opening may keep dripping after the press. With thicker creams the dose gets smaller and the pump is harder to press.

When refilling with a different formulation, flush the pump with warm water and leave it to dry. Otherwise residues of the previous contents will alter the first doses of the new product.

Good to know

• Light – the clear wall does not protect the contents from light. It suits products with a short shelf life, formulations without light-sensitive ingredients, or storage in a cabinet.
• Material compatibility – the bottle is intended for cosmetic products and should not come into contact with aggressive chemicals. For anhydrous products with a high proportion of essential oils or for strong solvents, we recommend leaving a sample in the bottle for several weeks and checking whether the wall turns cloudy or softens.
• Leak-tightness when travelling – the pump is not a transport closure. When packing in a suitcase, place the bottle in a bag or replace the pump with a cap with the same thread.
• Other closures – closures with the same thread type from the Handymade range fit the 24/410 neck, and you will also find ready-made combinations there. If you make your own combination, check the tightness and the behaviour of the closure with your specific formulation.
• Recycling – the bottle goes in plastic recycling as PET. The pump combines plastic with aluminium, so unscrew it from the bottle before disposal.
