Product description

The plastic bottle with pump, 100 ml, is a ready-made set for filling liquid and semi-liquid cosmetic products that are dispensed by pressing: body lotions, liquid soaps, shampoos, shower gels, light creams and facial oils. The clear PET bottle shows the contents and their level, so you can see how much product is left. The white and gold matte pump with a 24/410 neck finish matches the bottle in colour and size, and the contents are dispensed without unscrewing anything and without your fingers touching the product.

Both the bottle and the pump are declared suitable for contact with cosmetic products. The set is intended for cosmetics and is not approved for contact with food.

What it is suitable for

  • Body lotions – liquid to medium-thick emulsions pass through the dip tube and the pump and are dispensed evenly.
  • Liquid soaps, shampoos and shower gels – rinse-off products where one-handed dispensing at the sink or in the shower is valued.
  • Facial and massage oils with lower viscosity – the pump dispenses a small amount of oil without spilling, and the bottle stays clean on the outside.
  • Light creams and gels – for thicker textures, we recommend checking beforehand whether the pump can draw them up.
  • Samples and smaller batches – the 100 ml volume suits test batches, travel packs or products that are used up more quickly.

How the set dispenses

With one full press, the pump dispenses approximately 1.3 ml of the contents. The viscosity of the product affects the dose: thinner liquids pass through more easily, while thicker ones may need more presses or are dispensed less precisely.

The dip tube of the pump is supplied longer than the height of the bottle. Before the first assembly, shorten it so that its end reaches almost to the bottom but does not bend or kink. The pump then draws the contents from the lowest part of the bottle, and the amount of product left at the bottom is minimal.

Cut the tube with a sharp knife or scissors at an angle, not straight. An angled cut does not stick to the bottom, and the pump draws up even the last layer of the contents.

Volume and filling

The nominal volume of 100 ml is the volume the bottle is designed for in normal filling. The total volume up to the neck is larger. The difference is a reserve for the dip tube and the body of the pump, which push part of the contents upwards when screwed on, and also for the expansion of the contents when the temperature changes. Therefore, fill up to the nominal volume, not to the brim. A bottle filled right up to the neck will overflow when the pump is fitted.

Fill emulsions and gel products cold or after they have cooled to room temperature. PET is a thermoplastic: hot contents may deform the bottle, so protect the filled bottle from heat.

Good to know

  • Transparency and light – a clear bottle does not protect the contents from light. Products with essential oils, plant extracts or sensitive active ingredients should be kept out of direct sunlight when stored in it, or coloured packaging should be chosen for them.
  • Preparation before first filling – we recommend washing the bottle and the pump and letting them dry completely. Rinse the pump by pumping clean water through it several times, then leave it to drain.
  • Reuse – once empty, the set can be washed and used again. Pump warm water through the pump until it runs clean, so that no residue of the previous product remains in it.
  • Material and contents – PET is not suitable for aggressive chemicals and solvents. For formulations you are unsure about, we recommend checking beforehand how the bottle behaves with the specific product.
  • Recycling – the bottle is made of PET and is sorted as plastic. The pump combines several types of plastic with steel, glass and aluminium parts, so it is separated from the bottle when sorting.
  • Other closures – the bottle has a 24/410 neck finish. You can find closures with the same neck type and other ready-made bottle and closure combinations in the Handymade range. If you make your own combination, we recommend checking both the seal and the dispensing with your specific formulation.

Frequently asked questions

Is the 100 ml plastic bottle with pump suitable for body lotion?
Yes, body lotion and similar liquid to medium-thick emulsions are typical contents for this set. The pump dispenses approximately 1.3 ml per press. Thicker creams pass through the dip tube less easily and may need more presses, so we recommend testing beforehand whether the pump draws them up and dispenses them evenly.
Does the clear PET bottle protect the contents from light?
No, a clear bottle lets light through and does not protect the contents from it. Light-sensitive products, for example those with essential oils, plant extracts or vitamins, should be kept out of direct sunlight when stored in it. If the product is going to stand in the light for a long time, coloured or opaque packaging is more suitable.
Why should a bottle with a pump not be filled to the brim?
After the pump is screwed on, its dip tube and lower part take up space in the bottle and push part of the contents upwards. Therefore, fill only up to the nominal volume of 100 ml, not right up to the neck. The reserve above the liquid level also protects against overflow when the contents expand in warm conditions.
Does the dip tube of the pump need to be shortened before use?
Yes, the dip tube is supplied longer than the height of the bottle and should be shortened before the first assembly. A correctly cut tube reaches almost to the bottom without bending or kinking. An angled cut at the end prevents it from sticking to the bottom, so the pump also draws up the remaining contents.
Is the plastic bottle with pump suitable for oil?
Yes, facial and massage oils with lower viscosity are dispensed from the pump in small doses, and the bottle stays clean on the outside. However, PET is not intended for aggressive chemicals and solvents. For formulations you are unsure about, we recommend checking beforehand how the bottle behaves with the specific product.
