Product description

The plastic bottle with pump, 100 ml, is a ready-made set for liquid cosmetics that you only need to fill and use. It consists of a clear round PET bottle and a silver pump with a 24/410 neck finish. With one press, you can dispense body lotion, liquid soap, shampoo, serum or gel without spilling. The clear wall shows the colour of the contents, and the bottle is lightweight and does not break when dropped, so it works well in the bathroom as well as when travelling.

The set is declared suitable for contact with cosmetic products. It is not approved for contact with food, so it is intended exclusively for cosmetics.

How the set works

The pump consists of a PP head with a dip tube and a glossy aluminium collar, which gives the bottle a metallic look. The tube draws the contents from the bottom of the bottle, so almost the entire volume can be used up. One full press dispenses approximately 0.65 ml.

The dip tube is supplied longer than the height of the bottle. Before the first filling, shorten it with a diagonal cut so that it ends just above the bottom. The diagonal end does not stick to the bottom, and the pump draws the contents up to the very end.

Nominal volume and filling

The nominal volume is the amount the bottle is designed for under normal filling. The total brimful volume is the physical volume up to the neck and is slightly larger. The difference serves as a reserve for the tube and the pump head, which push part of the contents upwards once screwed in, and for the expansion of the contents with temperature changes. For this reason, fill up to the nominal volume, not to the brim, otherwise the contents will overflow through the thread when closing.

What it is suitable for

  • Body lotion and light creams – the pump draws liquid to semi-liquid emulsions without any problem, and they are applied straight from the bottle.
  • Liquid soap and shower gel – the 100 ml volume corresponds to a travel pack or a trial batch for customers.
  • Shampoo and liquid conditioner – through the clear wall you can see how much of the contents remains.
  • Serums and fluids – the smaller dose per press suits products that are applied in a small amount.
  • Hand gels and cleansing gels – dispensing without touching the neck is hygienic with repeated use by several people.

Good to know

Clear PET does not protect the contents from light. For oils prone to oxidation, vitamin C or formulations with a higher proportion of essential oils, we recommend dark or opaque packaging and storing the bottle away from direct sunlight.

The pump is designed for liquid and semi-liquid contents. With thicker creams or butters, check on a sample whether the pump draws in the contents and whether it returns to its original position after pressing. With very thin oils, watch whether it drips after pressing.

PET is filled cold. Let emulsions, gels and soaps cool down completely before filling, as warm contents can deform the wall of the bottle. Concentrated essential oils, solvents and strongly alkaline or acidic solutions can damage the plastic, so for such contents we recommend testing in advance how the bottle behaves with your specific formulation.

Before the first filling, wash the bottle, disinfect it with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol and let it dry completely. Rinse the pump by pumping clean water through it and dry it, so that no moisture remains in the tube.

Once empty, the set can be washed and refilled. When switching to a different type of product, rinse it more thoroughly, as residues of oils or surfactants in the tube would affect the next contents. The bottle is made of PET and belongs in plastic waste. The pump also contains an aluminium collar, so separate it from the bottle before sorting.

The bottle has a 24/410 neck finish, so it can also be fitted with other closures with the same thread type from the Handymade range. For your own combination, we recommend checking the tightness, the dispensing and the behaviour of the packaging with your specific formulation.

Frequently asked questions

Is the 100 ml plastic bottle with pump suitable for body oil?
Yes, the pump also draws oils, but with thin oils check whether it drips after pressing. Clear PET does not protect the contents from light, so dark packaging is more suitable for oils prone to oxidation. With oils containing a higher proportion of essential oils, we recommend testing the behaviour of the plastic on a sample beforehand.
Does the clear PET bottle protect the contents from light?
No, clear PET lets light through. It is therefore suitable for contents that are not affected by light, for example liquid soap, shampoo or body lotion without sensitive active ingredients. Formulations with vitamin C, retinol or oxidation-sensitive oils are better filled into amber or blue glass or opaque plastic.
How much does the silver pump dispense with one press?
One full press dispenses approximately 0.65 ml. The exact amount varies with the density of the contents, and with thicker emulsions the dose tends to be slightly smaller. With thick creams, check on a sample whether the pump returns after pressing and draws in the contents reliably.
Can the bottle with pump be washed and refilled?
Yes, the set is designed for repeated use. Wash the bottle, disinfect it with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol and let it dry. Rinse the pump by pumping clean water through it until clean water comes out, and dry it before the next filling. When changing the type of contents, clean it more thoroughly.
Can I fill a PET bottle with warm cream or liquid soap?
No, PET is filled only after the contents have cooled down completely. A warm emulsion or soap can deform the wall of the bottle, and the finished packaging may then no longer seal. First cool the emulsion to room temperature while stirring continuously, and only then fill up to the nominal volume.
Is this set approved for contact with food?
No, neither the bottle nor the pump has a certificate for contact with food. The set is declared suitable for contact with cosmetic products and is intended for that purpose. For homemade oils, syrups or herbal infusions, choose packaging whose food suitability is stated in its parameters.
