Rounded Clear Plastic Bottle, Silver Disc Top, 100 ml

A clear 100 ml PET bottle and a silver disc top cap make a ready-to-use set for liquid and medium-thick cosmetic products that are dispensed with one hand. The contents are squeezed or poured out through a small opening in the cap, without unscrewing it. It suits shower gels, shampoos, conditioners, liquid soaps, body lotions, micellar waters and facial toners, in other words anything that flows and does not need to be measured out drop by drop.

Clear PET shows the colour of the product and how much of it is left in the bottle. The plastic is lightweight and does not shatter like glass when dropped, so the bottle holds up in the shower, in a gym bag and on the road. Both the bottle and the cap are declared as suitable for contact with cosmetic products, and the declaration of conformity is available with the product.

What it is suitable for

• Shower gels and shampoos – a medium-thick consistency passes through the disc top opening smoothly, and the cap can be opened even with a wet hand.
• Body lotions and light emulsions – they are dispensed by squeezing the bottle, so your fingers do not come into contact with the contents.
• Liquid soaps and cleansing gels – at the sink, the set replaces a pump where precise dispensing is not needed.
• Micellar waters, toners and cleansing oils – thin products are dispensed by tilting the bottle directly onto a cotton pad or into your palm.
• Travel and sample sizes – you can decant a larger pack into the 100 ml bottle, and the pressed-down disc keeps the opening closed even in a bag.

How the disc top opens and dispenses

The disc top is opened by pressing one side of the round lid. The other side lifts up and uncovers the dispensing opening. After use, you press the lid back down and the opening closes. Compared with a screw cap, nothing has to be put aside. Compared with a pump, the dose is not fixed, as it is controlled by the force and length of the squeeze, or by the tilt of the bottle. The cap combines aluminium and PP: the outer part is silver, and the centre with the dispensing opening is white. The silver surface matches the clear body of the bottle.

Nominal and total volume

The nominal volume of the bottle is 100 ml. This is the amount of contents the packaging is designed for under normal filling. The total brimful volume given in the parameters is the physical volume up to the neck and is higher. The difference provides room for the cap, for the air above the liquid and for the expansion of the contents when the temperature changes. The bottle should therefore be filled to the nominal volume, not to the brim. If it were filled up to the neck, the contents would be pushed into the thread when closing, and the disc top would later leak.

Good to know

Before the first filling, wash the bottle and the cap, rinse them, disinfect them with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol and leave them to dry completely. This applies especially to the inside of the cap, where moisture lingers longest.

Do not fill hot contents into PET. Allow emulsions, gels and infusions to cool to room temperature before filling, otherwise the wall of the bottle may deform and the seal in the thread may deteriorate.

PET normally tolerates water-based and oil-based products. For formulations with a high proportion of alcohol, concentrated essential oils or solvents, we recommend testing how they behave in a single bottle first. Watch for clouding, softening of the wall and whether the contents pick up a foreign odour.

The set can be used repeatedly. When changing the formulation, rinse the channel of the disc top thoroughly, as residues of the previous contents cling to it longer than to a smooth bottle. For recycling, the PET bottle belongs with plastics. The cap combines aluminium and PP, so unscrew it from the bottle before throwing it away.
