Rounded Clear Plastic Bottle, Silver Disc Top, 150 ml

The clear PET bottle with a capacity of 150 ml and a silver disc top cap is designed for liquid and semi-liquid cosmetic products that are dispensed by squeezing the bottle: shower gels, shampoos, body milks, cleansing gels and liquid soaps. The clear plastic shows the contents and their colour, so it suits products whose appearance should be visible and which are not sensitive to light. PET is lightweight and does not break when dropped, so the bottle can be used without worry in the shower, at the sink or when travelling.

The set is declared suitable for contact with cosmetics. It is not intended for food.

How it dispenses

The disc top cap is opened by pressing the edge. One side of the white disc is pushed down, the other lifts and releases the dispensing opening. When you squeeze the bottle, a suitable amount of the contents flows out; when you release the pressure, the flow stops. It is closed again with a single press. The cap therefore does not need to be unscrewed with each use, and the thread serves mainly for filling and cleaning. The silver aluminium shell gives the cap a metallic look; the body of the cap and the disc are made of PP.

Liquids and medium-thick emulsions dispense well through a disc top. Very thick creams, butters or pastes pass through the opening with difficulty, and the bottle may deform when squeezed hard. Thin water-based formulations, such as toners, flow out quickly and the dose is harder to control.

What it is suitable for

• Shower gels and shampoos – liquid to gel consistency dispenses smoothly and the bottle holds up in a damp environment.
• Body milks and light emulsions – with low to medium viscosity, a gentle squeeze is enough and the contents do not need to be scooped out.
• Liquid soaps and facial cleansing gels – the opening closes with a single movement after use and no water gets into the contents.
• Hair conditioners and masks with a thinner texture – with thicker recipes, we recommend testing whether they dispense without excessive pressure.
• Travel size – the 150 ml volume suits a shorter stay and the lightweight plastic will not weigh down your luggage.

Nominal and total volume

The nominal volume is the volume the bottle is designed to hold when filled normally. The total brimful volume is the physical volume up to the neck and is usually slightly larger. The difference provides room for the cap, for the air above the surface and for the contents to expand when the temperature changes. The bottle is filled to the nominal volume, not to the brim. If it is filled up to the neck, the contents are pushed out when the bottle is closed and flow out uncontrolled at the first squeeze.

Good to know

Before the first filling, wash the bottle and the cap, disinfect them with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol and let them dry completely. Moisture in the packaging shortens the shelf life of the contents. Fill the bottle only once the product has cooled, as PET deforms with hot contents.

Clear plastic does not protect the contents from light. Store products with sensitive active ingredients or natural dyes away from direct sunlight, or choose amber or blue glass from the Handymade range for them.

The bottle has a 24/410 neck finish. Closures with the same neck type and ready-made combinations can be found in the Handymade range. For your own combination, we recommend checking the seal, the dispensing and the behaviour of the packaging with the specific formulation.

After emptying, the bottle can be washed and reused. Rinse the disc top cap with the disc open so that no residue of the contents is trapped in the channel. For recycling, the PET bottle belongs with plastics; dispose of the aluminium and PP cap separately.
