Product description

A clear round PET bottle with a capacity of 150 ml and a mechanical pump spray in white with a shiny gold ring forms a ready-to-use set for tonics, hydrolats, refreshing face and body sprays, hair sprays, or home and textile fragrances. The colour and clarity of the product are visible through the transparent wall. The plastic is lightweight and shatterproof, so the set withstands everyday carrying in a bag and use in the bathroom. Both the bottle and the spray are declared as suitable for contact with cosmetics.

What the set is suitable for

Tonics and hydrolats – water-based preparations with low viscosity pass through the spray easily and are applied evenly.
Face and body sprays – thermal or floral sprays and refreshing mists throughout the day.
Hair sprays – light water-based or hydroalcoholic preparations, for example with a hydrolat and a conditioning ingredient.
Home and textile fragrances – fragrance compositions solubilised in water or alcohol.

The set is not approved for contact with food and is therefore intended for cosmetics and fragrance products only.

How to work with the set

The spray with a 24/410 thread is screwed onto the bottle by hand. The dip tube is longer than the bottle requires; before first use, trim it so it reaches the bottom. The contents can then be dispensed almost to the last dose. One press releases approximately 0.12 ml, so the product is applied evenly to the face or hair without dripping. Before first use, press a few times on empty until the dip tube is primed.

The spray is designed for thin, water-like preparations. With thicker formulations, verify the spray's performance before filling a larger batch.

Sprays with an oil component should be solubilised so they remain clear and homogeneous. A separated oil layer is not applied evenly by the spray.

Nominal and total volume

The nominal volume of 150 ml is the quantity the bottle is designed for under normal filling. The total capacity of the bottle up to the neck is greater. The difference serves as headspace for the spray dip tube, for the air above the liquid, and for the expansion of the contents with temperature changes. Fill to the nominal volume, not to the brim, otherwise the contents will overflow when the spray is screwed on.

Good to know

Before the first filling, wash both the bottle and the spray, disinfect with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol and allow to dry completely. The set can be reused; after emptying, simply clean it the same way.

Protect the bottle from heat and fill the contents only after they have cooled down. Transparent plastic does not protect the contents from light. Preparations sensitive to light, for example those with a high proportion of essential oils or with unstable active ingredients, should be stored away from direct sunlight or packed in a dark container.

The PET bottle is not intended for aggressive chemicals. With a high proportion of essential oils, first test the behaviour of the packaging with a small quantity.

Once empty, the PET bottle belongs in sorted plastic waste. The spray combines plastic with an aluminium ring, so separate it from the bottle before recycling.

Frequently asked questions

Is the 150 ml plastic bottle with spray suitable for hydrolats?

Yes, hydrolats and tonics with a viscosity close to water are the most suitable contents for this set. The spray disperses them into a fine mist and the dip tube reaching to the bottom allows almost the entire volume to be used. The bottle is transparent, so store the hydrolat away from direct light.

Can an alcohol spray or room fragrance be filled into this set?

Yes, hydroalcoholic and alcoholic preparations are a common use for the PET bottle with spray. Fragrance compositions in water must be solubilised so they remain clear and the oil phase does not separate. With a high proportion of essential oils, we recommend testing a smaller quantity first, as the bottle is not intended for aggressive chemicals.

Why is the 150 ml bottle not filled to the brim?

The nominal volume of 150 ml is the quantity the container is designed for, and the space above it is headspace. It is needed by the spray dip tube, which displaces some of the contents when screwed on, and also by the contents that expand with heat. If filled to the brim, the product would overflow when closing.

How to prepare the plastic bottle with spray before the first filling?

Wash both the bottle and the spray, rinse with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol and allow to dry completely. Spray the spray head several times with alcohol so the dip tube and nozzle are also cleaned. Fill the finished product only after drying. The same procedure is repeated for each subsequent use of the set.

Can I use a different closure than this spray on the 24/410 bottle?

Yes, any closure with the same 24/410 neck type can be screwed onto the bottle; you will find these in the Handymade range along with ready-made combinations. With a custom combination, we recommend checking the seal, the dispensing method, and the behaviour of the packaging with the specific formulation, especially with thicker or alcoholic preparations.
