Rounded Clear Plastic Bottle, White Disc Top Cap, 150 ml

A clear PET bottle with a capacity of 150 ml and a white disc top cap makes a ready-to-use set for dispensing liquid and semi-liquid cosmetic products. It is suitable for shower gels, shampoos, conditioners, liquid soaps, body lotions and lighter creams, in other words anything that is dispensed by squeezing the bottle. The contents are visible through the clear plastic, so it is always obvious how much product is left, and the colour of the product becomes part of the look of the packaging. PET is lightweight and, unlike glass, does not break when dropped, which is useful for products used in the shower, in the bathroom or when travelling.

Both the bottle and the cap have a 24/410 neck finish, and both parts are declared suitable for contact with cosmetic products.

How the disc top cap dispenses

The cap has a disc on top that opens by pressing down on one side. The raised side uncovers the dispensing opening, the contents are pushed out by squeezing the bottle, and after use the disc is pressed back down. The whole operation can be done with one hand, which is why the disc top is so often used for shower gels and shampoos.

It works best with contents of low to medium viscosity. Thick creams and masks are difficult to squeeze out of the bottle and leave residue at the opening. Very thin liquids, such as toners or hydrosols, on the other hand, flow out quickly, because the disc top does not dispense drop by drop or as a fine mist. For such products, a fine mist sprayer or a dropper is a better choice.

What the set is suitable for

• Shower gels and shampoos – one-handed dispensing right in the shower, and PET does not break when dropped.
• Conditioners and body lotions – creamy textures that still flow and can be squeezed out by pressing the side of the bottle.
• Liquid soaps and hand cleansing gels – the 150 ml size works well both by the washbasin and in a travel bag.
• Massage and body emulsions – lighter emulsions where you want to control the amount used each time.
• Samples and smaller batches – the clear bottle shows the colour and consistency of the product without opening it.

Nominal and total volume

The 150 ml figure is the nominal volume, that is, the amount the bottle is intended to hold when filled normally. The physical volume up to the brim of the neck is larger. The difference serves as a reserve for the cap and for the expansion of the contents when the temperature changes. For this reason, fill the bottle up to the nominal volume, not to the brim. An overfilled bottle is harder to close once the disc top is screwed on, and the contents may come out uncontrollably when it is first squeezed.

Filling and preparing the packaging

Before the first filling, wash the bottle and the cap, disinfect them with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol and leave them to dry completely. Residual water in the neck or in the channel of the disc top could affect the microbiological stability of the product.

Fill the product only after it has cooled. PET is not intended for hot filling; at a higher temperature the wall of the bottle may become deformed and the thread will stop sealing. For this reason, emulsions should be poured into the bottle only after cooling is complete and after the preservative and fragrance components have been added.

Clear plastic does not protect the contents from light. Store products containing sensitive active ingredients, vegetable oils prone to oxidation or natural dyes in a clear bottle away from direct sunlight, or choose dark packaging for them.

Good to know

The set is intended for cosmetics. Neither the bottle nor the cap is declared suitable for contact with food, so it is not suitable for homemade oils, syrups or other foods.

The bottle with its cap can be reused after washing and disinfection, as long as the thread seals and the disc of the disc top is still springy. After several cycles, check that the cap still closes fully. The bottle is made of PET and the cap of PP. For recycling, separate the two parts and put them in your plastic recycling.
