Product description
A glass bottle with a dropper insert and a black safety cap is a ready-to-use set for filling liquid cosmetic preparations that are dispensed by the drop. The white glass conceals the contents and limits the access of light, so it suits essential oil blends, oil serums, facial oils and tinctures that lose their scent or effectiveness in light. The 100 ml volume is enough for a larger pack of oil serum or massage blend, or for a stock bottle from which you dilute essential oils into other preparations.
The set includes a short plastic dropper insert that fits into the neck of the bottle, and a safety cap. All three components are declared suitable for contact with cosmetic products. The set is not intended for food.
What it is suitable for
- Essential oil blends – the dropper insert dispenses by the drop, and the white glass protects sensitive ingredients from light.
- Oil serums and facial oils – the 100 ml volume corresponds to a pack that lasts several months of use.
- Concentrated massage blends – the dropper insert measures out a few drops, which are diluted in the palm of the hand or in a carrier oil. For ready-made body oils that are used in larger amounts, dispensing by the drop is slow.
- Tinctures and alcohol extracts – the dropper insert allows precise measuring into other preparations.
How to use the set
After filling, press the dropper insert into the neck of the bottle so that it sits level and is seated around the whole circumference. Then screw on the cap. When dispensing, tilt the bottle or turn it upside down, and the contents flow out drop by drop through the opening in the dropper insert. The dripping speed depends on the thickness of the contents. Thin essential oils and alcohol tinctures flow faster, thicker vegetable oils more slowly, and at a low temperature the dripping slows down even more.
Before filling a larger number of bottles, we recommend trying out one set. This lets you check whether the safety cap suits you.
The dropper insert is intended for dispensing, not for closing the bottle. The bottle is closed by the cap, so screw it on after each use to prevent the contents from spilling or evaporating.
Nominal and total volume
The nominal volume of 100 ml is the volume the bottle is designed to hold when filled normally. The total brimful volume, which you will find in the parameters, is the physical volume up to the neck. The difference between them forms a reserve for the dropper insert, which is pressed into the neck and displaces part of the contents, and for the expansion of the contents when the temperature changes. The bottle is therefore filled up to the nominal volume, not to the brim. If it is filled to the brim, the contents are pushed out when the dropper insert is pressed in, and the cap may not seat properly.
Good to know
Before the first filling, we recommend washing the bottle, dropper insert and cap, disinfecting them with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol and letting them dry completely. Residual water in an oil-based preparation can shorten its shelf life, so dry the packaging thoroughly, especially if it is intended for anhydrous formulations.
The dropper insert is made of polypropylene. For concentrated essential oils, citrus oils and tinctures with a high alcohol content, we recommend checking how the plastic parts behave with your specific formulation during longer storage. The glass itself is resistant to oils, alcohol and water-based preparations.
Once empty, you can wash the glass bottle and use it again. The dropper insert is harder to clean, so if you change to contents with a strong scent, it is better to replace it with a new one. Glass does not tolerate sudden changes in temperature, so do not pour hot mixtures into the bottle and do not move it straight from the cold into the warm.
The set is declared for contact with cosmetics only. Do not use it for food, drinks or food supplements.
Closures with the same neck type as stated in the parameters, and ready-made combinations of the bottle with other closures, can be found in the Handymade range. If you make your own combination, we recommend checking the tightness, the dispensing and the behaviour of the packaging with your specific formulation. Glass belongs in the glass recycling bin, the dropper insert and the cap in the plastics bin.
