Product description

Glass bottle, dropper bottle, white, white frosted dropper, 30 ml

A set of a glass bottle in a dropper-bottle shape with a nominal volume of 30 ml and a dropper sized to fit this bottle exactly. Suitable especially for facial serums, oil serums, blends of carrier and essential oils, tinctures and concentrated active ingredients dosed in drops and used in small amounts. The opaque white glass hides the contents from view and limits light exposure; the white frosted dropper complements the bottle for a uniform look.

The packaging is declared suitable for contact with cosmetic products; a declaration of conformity is available with the product.

What the set is suitable for

  • Oil serums and oil blends – glass does not react with oils, and drop-by-drop dosing matches the way oil serums are applied to the skin.
  • Water-based and hydrogel serums – the dropper dispenses exactly the few drops you need for your face, without the contents coming into contact with fingers.
  • Active ingredient concentrates – with more expensive raw materials added drop by drop to a formulation, the dropper makes measuring small amounts easier.
  • Tinctures and alcohol-based preparations – glass withstands alcohol, and the white colour of the packaging limits light that could alter dyes and plant components over time.
  • Samples and travel-size packaging – the 30 ml bottle takes up minimal space and is sufficient for trying out a new formulation.

How to use the set

The dropper consists of a glass tube, a silicone bulb and a threaded plastic cap. Squeezing and releasing the bulb draws the contents into the tube, which can then be dispensed drop by drop. The tube length is matched to the height of the bottle, so it reaches almost to the bottom and the contents can be used right to the end.

Fill to the nominal volume, i.e. 30 ml. The total capacity to the brim is slightly larger. The difference is a reserve for the dropper tube, which takes up part of the neck space when screwed in, and for the expansion of the contents with temperature changes. A bottle filled right to the neck will overflow when the dropper is screwed on.

With thicker serums and gels, check whether the dropper can draw them up and dispense them. The silicone bulb works well with liquid to medium-viscosity products; very thick gels and creams are difficult to draw into the tube.

Before the first fill, wash both the bottle and the dropper, disinfect with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol and leave to dry completely. Residual water in the tube or bottle would dilute a water-based product and could cloud an anhydrous oil product.

Good to know

Allow a hot mixture to cool to at least lukewarm temperature before filling. Glass handles a sudden transition from cold to heat poorly and the bottle could crack.

The silicone bulb and the plastic part of the dropper come into contact with the contents only when dispensing. With concentrated essential oils and solvents, however, it is worth monitoring whether the bulb softens or loses elasticity over time.

The bottle can be reused after thorough washing and disinfection. When changing the contents, it is better to replace the dropper — the bulb is harder to clean and retains the scent of the previous product. Before recycling, separate the dropper from the bottle, as it is made of multiple materials.

The set is intended for cosmetics. Neither the bottle nor the dropper has food-contact certification, so do not use it for cooking oils, syrups or other foodstuffs.

Closures with the same neck type and other ready-made bottle-and-closure combinations are available in the Handymade range. For your own combination, verify the seal, dosing and packaging behaviour with your specific formulation.

Frequently asked questions

Does the white glass bottle with dropper protect the contents from light?
Yes, the opaque white glass limits light reaching the contents and also hides them completely from view. For serums with vitamins, plant extracts or essential oils that change colour or scent in light, this is a suitable type of packaging. Unlike brown glass, it does not show the remaining quantity, so monitor it by how much the dropper tube draws up.
How much does a 30 ml bottle with dropper actually hold?
The bottle is filled to the nominal volume of 30 ml, although a little more would fit to the brim. The reserve is needed for the dropper tube, which takes up part of the neck space when screwed in, and for the expansion of the contents with temperature changes. If you filled the bottle right to the neck, the contents would overflow when the dropper is screwed on.
Is a glass dropper bottle suitable for oil serum?
Yes, this set is suitable for oil serums and blends of carrier oils. Glass does not react with oils and the dropper dispenses exactly the few drops applied to the skin. With a higher proportion of essential oils, monitor the condition of the silicone bulb and replace it if needed during long-term storage.
Can a bottle with dropper be used for a water-based serum or tincture?
Yes, glass withstands both water and alcohol, so the set is suitable for water-based serums, small-volume tonics and alcohol tinctures. With water-based products, keep in mind that the dropper comes into contact with the contents at each use, so the product must be properly preserved. Before filling, disinfect both the bottle and the dropper and allow to dry.
How to prepare a glass bottle with dropper before the first fill?
Wash the bottle and dropper, disinfect with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol and leave to dry completely. With the dropper, draw and dispense the disinfectant solution several times to clean the tube on the inside as well, then allow the alcohol to evaporate. Fill with the finished product only when the packaging is dry — any remaining water would dilute or cloud it.
