White Plastic Bottle, 24/410, Black Mat Plastic Cap, 100 ml

The white plastic bottle with a volume of 100 ml and a matte black cap is intended for cosmetic products that are dispensed by pouring: body and massage oils, toners, micellar waters, thinner body lotions or travel-size shower gels. The PET bottle is lightweight and does not break when dropped, which you will appreciate in the bathroom as well as when sending out your own products. The 24/410 neck finish is a common standard for cosmetic bottle necks, so you can later use the bottle with a different closure of the same type.

The set is declared suitable for contact with cosmetic products. Only the bottle on its own has a certificate for direct food contact; the cap does not, so the set as a whole is classed as cosmetic packaging.

What the bottle is suitable for

• Body and massage oils – even thicker oil blends dispense without problems when poured.
• Toners, facial waters and micellar waters – low-viscosity water-based products that are applied to a cotton pad or into the palm.
• Thinner body lotions – emulsions that still flow and do not need a pump or squeezing.
• Travel-size shower gels and shampoos – 100 ml is a reasonable volume for testing a new recipe with customers or for a smaller travel pack.
• Samples and test batches – when developing a formulation, a smaller volume fills quickly and is easier to monitor.

Filling and volume

The nominal volume is the amount the bottle is designed for under normal filling. The brimful volume is slightly larger, because a bottle is never filled up to the neck. The headspace at the top is there for the closure and for the expansion of the contents when the temperature changes. So fill only up to the nominal volume.

Allow warm emulsions and melted oil blends to cool before filling. PET is not designed for hot filling, and heat is not good for it during storage either.

Closure and leak-tightness

The matte black PP cap screws onto the 24/410 neck and seals the contents with no dispensing opening, so you open the bottle and pour from it like a classic small bottle. We recommend checking leak-tightness during transport and when stored lying down with your specific formulation, especially with oils and very thin liquids, which will find even a small leak. Good to know

• Anhydrous products with essential oils – with a high proportion of essential oils or with products containing solvents, we recommend first testing how the plastic behaves on a single bottle and monitoring it for several weeks.
• Reuse – after thorough washing, disinfection and drying, the bottle can be filled again. Do not use aggressive cleaning chemicals on it; warm water, an ordinary cleaning product and subsequent disinfection with alcohol are sufficient.
• Recycling – the bottle and the cap are made of different plastics, so separate them when disposing of them so that they can be processed separately.
