The wooden wick represents a natural solution for producing scented and decorative candles in glass containers, tin jars or ceramic pots. Thanks to stable burning, it is suitable for candles made from various waxes, naturally supporting even wax melting and an aesthetic flame.
The wooden wick is designed to provide consistent burning without excessive smoking when properly matched to the container diameter and wax composition. It is ideal for artisanal candle production in small and medium batches, for bottles, jars, tins and other decorative packaging.
The container size needs to be adapted to the width of the wooden wick and the type of wax. We recommend starting by testing on a small batch of candles – filling several different containers (bottle, tumbler, tin) and monitoring the flame behaviour, wax melting and any smoking. The ideal container diameter is one in which the wax melts evenly right up to the edges without overheating the glass. Before final production, it is always necessary to perform your own safety burn tests.
Yes, the container can be reused after the candle has burned out, provided it is undamaged and basic hygiene rules are followed. First mechanically remove the remaining wax and impurities, wash the container thoroughly, and before refilling we recommend disinfecting the inner surface using a suitable alcohol, for example IPA 99 % isopropyl alcohol or Ethanol 96 % denatured plant-based. Disinfection is particularly important if you plan to use the packaging for cosmetic or other sensitive products.
If you decide not to further use the container with the used wooden wick, we recommend recycling it according to the material specified in the parameters of the particular packaging on the product page. Glass bottles and tins, after removing the wax and metal parts, should be placed in the glass recycling container, plastic packaging in the appropriate plastic collection and metal lids or packaging in metal waste. The remaining wooden part of the wick and wax residues generally go into mixed waste, unless local sorting rules specify otherwise. Always follow local recommendations for waste separation.
The simplest solution is to use the advanced filter in the packaging category. After clicking on the relevant category (for example bottles, pots or medicine bottles), you will find the filter at the top of the page. You can combine several parameters at once – select the neck type, required container size, colour and material. In this way you quickly narrow down the selection to packaging that best matches your product and the planned method of dispensing or closing.
With a new combination of wax, colourants and fragrance substances, it is important to perform a burn test in the real container in which you plan to offer the candle. Monitor the flame size, wax melting rate, any smoking and overheating of the packaging walls. Let the candle burn through in several cycles so that you can see the flame behaviour even at a low wax level. We recommend keeping records of the wax used, fragrance concentration and container type so that you can reliably replicate a successful formulation.
