Product description

The atomizer set with a brown glass bottle is designed for liquid cosmetic preparations applied as a fine mist – hydrolates, tonics, face and hair mists, perfume waters or herbal sprays. It consists of a brown glass bottle with a flat top with a nominal volume of 100 ml and a matching mechanical atomizer with a transparent body and a glossy silver collar. Brown glass reduces light exposure, protecting light-sensitive contents. The set is assembled so that the bottle and closure seal and dispense together without the need to search for a compatible neck.

The flat top gives the bottle a clean, simple shape with a flat area for a label. The transparent atomizer with a silver collar sits discreetly on the brown glass and suits both natural and minimalist graphic designs.

Why choose this set

  • Light protection – brown glass limits light penetration, so water- and alcohol-based preparations with essential oils, extracts or vitamins retain their scent and colour for longer.
  • Fine mist – the mechanical atomizer dispenses a small amount of liquid as a mist with each press. That is exactly what tonics, hydrolates and refreshing sprays for the face, hair or body require.
  • Glass with no interaction with the contents – glass does not react with alcohol or essential oils, does not absorb scent and can be repeatedly washed and disinfected. In addition to glass, the atomizer tube and nozzle also come into contact with the contents.
  • Ready-to-use combination – the bottle and atomizer share the same 24/410 neck type, so the set fits without trial and error. When combining with a different closure of the same neck type, we recommend verifying the seal and dispensing with the specific formulation.

What the set is suitable for

The atomizer works reliably with thin, water-based or alcohol-based liquids. This includes facial tonics and hydrolates, face and body mists, hair refreshers and leave-in hair sprays, perfume and eau de toilette, as well as herbal or floral room or textile sprays.

The atomizer is not suitable for thick serums, creams, gels with thickeners or viscous oils – the nozzle will clog or the liquid will spray as a stream instead of a mist. Lightweight dry oils can be atomized, but the mist behaviour is worth testing in advance, as it depends on the oil's viscosity.

Nominal and total volume

Nominal volume is the volume the bottle is designed for during normal filling. Total volume to the rim is the physical volume up to the neck and is slightly larger. The difference provides a reserve for the atomizer tube, which displaces some of the contents when screwed on, and for slight expansion of the contents with temperature changes. The bottle should therefore be filled to the nominal volume, not to the rim – filling to the rim would cause liquid to overflow through the neck when closing, contaminating the thread and impairing the seal. Both values are listed in the specifications.

Good to know

Preparation before first filling. We recommend washing, rinsing and disinfecting the bottle with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol, then allowing it to dry thoroughly with the neck facing down. For the atomizer, rinsing with clean water and pumping a few times empty is sufficient to remove any residue from the tube.

The atomizer tube is longer than the bottle to allow use with bottles of different heights. Before first use, trim it with a diagonal cut so it ends just above the bottom of the bottle and is not bent against the bottom – otherwise it draws in poorly and leaves an unusable residue in the packaging.

Compatibility with the contents. Glass is chemically resistant to cosmetic preparations. The atomizer has plastic parts made of PP and an aluminium collar – at high concentrations of essential oils or alcohol, we recommend checking whether the seal and piston action change after a few weeks. For products intended for sale, a compatibility test with the finished formulation is advisable.

The tube and nozzle are the most vulnerable points for deposits. Preparations with undissolved ingredients, sediment or extract particles should be filtered before filling, otherwise the spray quality will deteriorate over time.

Glass and temperature. The bottle withstands filling with cold and lukewarm liquids. Pour hot solutions only after they have cooled and never into a cold bottle – a sharp temperature difference can crack the glass.

The set as a whole is declared for contact with cosmetics. The glass bottle alone holds a certificate for direct food contact; the atomizer does not – the set is therefore not intended for food use.

Label. The flat wall of the bottle provides space for a wrap-around or front label.

Reuse and recycling. After washing and disinfecting, the bottle can be refilled. Before refilling the atomizer, check the piston action, especially after alcohol-based contents. When disposing, glass goes with glass; the atomizer, as a multi-material plastic closure, goes with plastics.

Frequently asked questions

Is the brown glass bottle with atomizer suitable for hydrolates and facial tonics?
Yes, hydrolates and tonics are the most typical contents for this set. They are thin, so the atomizer produces a fine mist, and brown glass slows the light-induced changes in scent and colour. A hydrolate is a water-based product, so the formulation must include a preservative regardless of the packaging.
Can oil be atomized in a glass bottle with atomizer?
To some extent. Lightweight dry oils such as jojoba or squalane can be atomized, but the mist is coarser and the nozzle tends to clog over time. Thick oils, butters in liquid phase or oil serums with thickeners are not suitable for atomizing – for these we recommend a bottle with the same neck and a dropper or pump.
Can I fill the bottle with atomizer with an alcohol-based perfume or a spray with essential oils?
Yes, glass tolerates both alcohol and essential oils without issue, and the brown colour protects fragrance components from light. The plastic parts of the atomizer are under greater stress at high essential oil concentrations, so for perfumes with a higher proportion of fragrance materials we recommend a seal and function test after a few weeks.
How much liquid does the atomizer dispense per press?
Approximately 0.12 ml, which corresponds to a fine mist for a single application to the face or hair. The dose is determined by the atomizer's design and cannot be changed. If you need a larger amount per press, consider a trigger atomizer or a pump with the same neck type.
How to clean the glass bottle with atomizer before refilling?
Wash the bottle with warm water and detergent, rinse and disinfect with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol, then allow to dry. Unscrew the atomizer, pump it several times with clean water and finally with air empty, to remove any residue of the previous contents from the tube. When switching formulations, it is safer to use a new atomizer.
