Product description

The glass bottle with sprayer set combines a brown glass bottle with a capacity of 100 ml and a white mechanical sprayer with a shiny gold ring. It is intended for cosmetic preparations applied as a fine mist: facial and hair tonics, hydrolates, refreshing mists, perfume waters, or textile and room fragrances with an alcohol base.

Brown glass reduces light transmission, helping to protect contents sensitive to oxidation, such as preparations with essential oils, plant extracts or vitamins. The straight neck of the bottle and the clean white colour of the sprayer give the packaging a simple appearance; the gold ring completes it without covering the label. The set is declared as suitable for contact with cosmetics. The bottle alone holds a certificate for direct contact with food; the set as a whole is intended for cosmetics.

What the set is suitable for

  • Tonics and hydrolates – water-based preparations with low viscosity spray evenly and can be dispensed without hand contact with the contents.
  • Facial and body mists – light water-based or mildly solubilised formulations applied directly to the skin.
  • Perfume and toilet waters – alcohol solutions of fragrance compositions, where the sprayer delivers a fine trace of scent.
  • Hair sprays and leave-in conditioners – thin water-based systems that must not leave droplets.
  • Room and textile fragrances – alcohol or water-alcohol preparations for refreshing the home or fabrics.

How the set works and how to fill it

The sprayer works mechanically, without propellant gas. Pressing the pump draws the contents through the dip tube and pushes them through the nozzle as a fine mist. A single dose is approximately 0.12 ml, enabling precise application and consumption estimates when creating usage instructions. Before first use, press the sprayer several times to prime the dip tube and pump head.

When filling, note the difference between nominal and total volume. The nominal volume is the amount the bottle is designed to hold under normal filling conditions. The total volume to the brim is the physical capacity of the bottle filled to the top of the neck. The difference between them provides a reserve for the sprayer's dip tube and for expansion of the contents with temperature change. The bottle should therefore be filled to the nominal volume, not to the brim. If overfilled, the contents will be forced out through the neck when the sprayer is screwed on.

Before filling for the first time, wash the bottle, disinfect it with ethanol or isopropyl alcohol and allow it to dry completely. Rinse the sprayer with clean water and let it drip dry. Residual moisture would dilute the preparation and impair its microbiological stability.

Check the sprayer's dip tube after fitting it to the bottle. It should reach just above the bottom, not bend against it. If it is too long, trim it with a sharp knife using a straight cut, so the sprayer can draw out even the last remnants of the contents.

Good to know

The mechanical sprayer is designed for thin liquids. It reliably dispenses water-based solutions, hydrolates, alcohol preparations and light solubilised mists. Oils, thick serums and emulsions with higher viscosity pass through the nozzle with difficulty, the dose is uneven and the mechanism clogs quickly. For oily products in a bottle with the same neck, a pump or dropper is more suitable.

Preparations with a high proportion of essential oils or concentrated fragrance compositions may over time affect the plastic parts of the sprayer. We recommend verifying the seal integrity and mechanism behaviour with the specific formulation on a small sample, especially if the preparation contains a higher proportion of solvents.

The bottle is glass, meaning it is heavier and more fragile than plastic alternatives, but does not react with the contents and is also suitable for alcohol solutions that could attack some plastics. Glass tolerates sharp temperature changes poorly, so do not pour hot contents into a cold bottle. Cosmetic preparations are filled cold, which also protects the sprayer.

The straight part of the bottle body is suitable for labelling. For repeated use, clean the bottle in the same way as before the first filling and rinse the sprayer until clear water flows from the nozzle. Residues of fragrance compositions are difficult to remove from plastic, so only reuse the sprayer for the same type of preparation.

Closures with the same neck type and other ready-made combinations can be found in the Handymade range. For your own combination, we recommend verifying the seal, dosage and packaging behaviour with the specific formulation.

After filling, leave the sprayer fitted and store the bottle upright. When placed on its side, the contents may leak through the pump head, especially with alcohol preparations of low viscosity.

After use, the glass bottle is sorted as glass waste. The sprayer combines plastic and aluminium and should therefore be disposed of separately from glass, following the rules for plastic packaging.

Frequently asked questions

Is the 100 ml glass bottle with sprayer suitable for oils?
No, the mechanical sprayer is not intended for oils or thick serums. It is designed for thin water-based and alcohol liquids such as tonics, hydrolates, facial mists or perfume waters. Oils pass through the nozzle unevenly and clog it quickly. For oily products in the same bottle, we recommend a pump or dropper with a 24/410 neck.
Does brown glass protect the contents from light?
Yes, brown glass reduces light transmission and slows down light-induced changes in the contents. It is therefore suitable for preparations with essential oils, plant extracts and other components sensitive to oxidation. However, it does not replace preservation or antioxidants in the formulation and does not protect the contents from heat. Keep the bottle out of direct sunlight.
How much preparation actually fits in the 100 ml bottle?
The bottle is filled to the nominal volume of 100 ml, not to the brim of the neck. The total volume to the brim is slightly larger; the difference provides a reserve for the sprayer's dip tube and for expansion of the contents with temperature change. If you fill the bottle to the brim, part of the contents will be forced out when the sprayer is screwed on and the neck will become soiled.
Is the bottle with sprayer set suitable for food use?
The set as a whole is intended for cosmetics, not for food. The glass bottle alone holds a certificate for direct contact with food; the sprayer does not have such a rating. For cosmetic preparations such as tonics, mists or perfume waters, the set is declared suitable. For edible oils, syrups or extracts, choose a bottle with a closure intended for food use.
Can I reuse the glass bottle with sprayer?
Yes, both the bottle and the sprayer are suitable for repeated use provided you clean them thoroughly between fillings. Wash the bottle, disinfect it with ethanol and allow it to dry. Rinse the sprayer with clean water until clear water flows from the nozzle. For the sprayer, we recommend sticking to the same type of preparation, as residues of fragrance compositions cannot be fully removed from plastic.
How does the sprayer perform with alcohol-based perfume waters?
The mechanical sprayer dispenses alcohol solutions finely and evenly, so the set is commonly used for perfume and toilet waters. Glass is not affected by alcohol. We recommend verifying the behaviour of the plastic parts of the sprayer with the specific formulation on a small sample, especially at a high proportion of fragrance compositions, and storing the bottle upright.
