Product description

Clear round plastic bottle, gold pump, 150 ml

This round PET bottle with a capacity of 150 ml and a black and gold pump is designed for products that are dispensed in doses: body lotions, face fluids, liquid soaps, shampoos, conditioners, or massage and hair oils. Through the clear wall you can see both the colour and the amount of product left. The plastic is light and does not break, which you will appreciate in the bathroom, when travelling and when filling a larger number of bottles.

The set is supplied as a ready-made combination of a bottle and a pump with a 24/410 neck finish. Both parts are declared suitable for contact with cosmetic products. The set is not intended for food.

What it is good for

  • Body lotions and fluid creams – the pump dispenses a dose without you having to reach into the packaging with your fingers, which reduces the risk of introducing microbes into the emulsion.
  • Liquid soaps, shower gels and shampoos – the 150 ml size works well by the sink, in a travel bag or as a sample for customers.
  • Oil serums and massage oils – liquid oils pass through the pump easily and are measured more precisely than when poured from a bottle.
  • Hair care – leave-in conditioners and thinner hair creams that are applied directly into the palm.

How to use the set

With one press, the pump dispenses approximately 1 ml of the contents, which is roughly one dose of hand cream or a portion of liquid soap. It handles liquid to medium-thick formulations. Thick creams and butters pass through the dip tube with difficulty or not at all. For thicker products, we therefore recommend testing the pump with your specific recipe before you fill the whole batch.

The dip tube is supplied longer than the height of the bottle. Before first use, shorten it so that it reaches just to the bottom and does not bend when inserted. After filling the bottle and screwing on the pump, press it several times until the tube fills and the dispensing settles.

Cut the tube straight, with sharp scissors and preferably in several small steps. A tube that is too short leaves a residue of product on the bottom that can no longer be pumped out.

The nominal volume of 150 ml is the amount the packaging is designed for in normal filling. The total volume of the bottle up to the neck is larger. The difference is a reserve for the tube and the body of the pump and for the expansion of the contents when the temperature changes. Fill the bottle up to the nominal volume, not to the brim.

Good to know

Clear PET does not protect the contents from light. Light-sensitive products, for example oils with a high proportion of unsaturated fatty acids, vitamin C or preparations with natural colorants, belong in dark glass, or the clear bottle should be stored in a box or out of direct sunlight.

PET is not intended for hot filling. Let emulsions and gels cool to room temperature before filling, as warm contents may deform the wall of the bottle. The packaging is not suitable for aggressive chemicals. For formulations with a high proportion of essential oils, alcohol or solvents, we recommend checking that both the bottle material and the pump seal withstand the entire period of use of the product.

Before the first filling, wash the bottle and the pump, rinse them with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol and let them dry completely. Residual water in the tube dilutes the first doses and, in insufficiently preserved products, is a source of contamination.

The bottle withstands repeated use if it is thoroughly washed and dried. Pump clean water through the pump, then alcohol, pull out the tube and let the mechanism dry in a disassembled state. The bottle is made of PET and, once empty, belongs in sorted plastic waste. The pump combines plastic with aluminium, so it is separated from the bottle when sorting.

The 24/410 neck finish allows you to use other closures, sprayers or pumps of the same type from the Handymade range with the bottle. If you make your own combination, we recommend checking the tightness and dispensing with your specific formulation.

Frequently asked questions

Does a clear plastic bottle with a pump protect the contents from light?
No, clear PET lets light through and does not protect the contents from it. It suits products that are not light-sensitive, or products with a short period of use, for example liquid soap or body lotion kept at the sink. For oils prone to oxidation, vitamin C or naturally coloured formulations, choose dark glass or store the bottle out of direct sunlight.
How thick a product can the 24/410 pump handle?
The pump handles liquid and medium-thick products, that is lotions, fluids, liquid soaps, shampoos and oils. Thick creams, butters and high-viscosity gels do not pass through the dip tube, or the pump dispenses an incomplete dose. For products with a borderline consistency, we recommend filling one bottle as a test and checking whether the dispensing stays even after several days.
Can I pour a warm emulsion into a 150 ml plastic bottle?
No, a PET bottle should be filled with contents cooled to room temperature. A warm cream or gel may deform the wall of the bottle, and as it cools the contents pull the walls inwards. Let the emulsion cool after mixing, or finish the cooling phase while stirring in the original vessel, and only then fill the bottle.
Why is the bottle with a pump not filled to the brim?
The bottle is filled up to the nominal volume of 150 ml, not up to the neck. The space above this level is taken up by the body of the pump and the tube, and it also serves as a reserve for the expansion of the contents during warmer storage. If you fill to the brim, the product overflows through the thread when you screw on the pump.
Is a plastic bottle with a pump suitable for oils and oil serums?
Yes, vegetable oils and oil serums are commonly filled into a PET bottle with a pump, and the pump dispenses them without problems. Caution is advised with recipes that have a high proportion of essential oils, alcohol or other solvents, which may attack the plastic and the pump seal over time. In that case, we recommend checking how the packaging behaves with your specific formulation over several weeks.
