Glass bottle – medicine bottle represents a professional packaging suitable for filling a wide range of liquid and partially viscous preparations. The rigid glass material ensures the stability of the product composition and minimizes the interaction between the contents and the packaging, thanks to which it is suitable for formulations with active substances, extracts or aromas.
This type of medicine bottle is popular in the cosmetic, pharmaceutical and food segments, where emphasis is placed on hygiene, cleanliness and long-term protection of the contents. Thanks to its shape, the bottle is easy to fill, label and store and is ideal for small to medium batches of products intended for further sale or sampling.
The glass medicine bottles in this category are compatible with various types of closures and dispensing systems (for example screw caps, droppers, spray heads or practical applicators) according to the parameters selected at the time of purchase. Combinations of packaging and closures that are created directly on Handymade are tested and functional. However, for all combinations we always recommend carrying out your own compatibility test (sealing, dosing and behaviour of the packaging in contact with the specific formulation) so that you can be sure of correct functioning with your specific product.
All technical parameters of the packaging are given in the attached Packaging Quality Certificate and in the product parameters.
The glass packaging is generally very stable and is also suitable for formulations with a higher content of active substances, alcohol or aromatic components. However, it is always recommended to carry out your own compatibility test with the specific composition (especially with highly concentrated acids, bases or specific solvents) in order to verify the long-term behaviour of the product in the packaging.
The packaging can be reused repeatedly if proper hygiene rules are followed. Before the first and each subsequent filling, we recommend thoroughly cleaning the medicine bottle, rinsing it and then disinfecting it with a suitable alcohol (for example IPA 99 % isopropyl alcohol or ethanol 96 % denatured vegetable). Allow the disinfectant solution to act, let the remainder evaporate and only then fill the container in order to minimize the risk of microbial contamination and the influence on the fragrance or stability of the product.
If you decide not to reuse the packaging, its recycling according to the type of material stated in the product parameters is recommended. Glass medicine bottles are normally sorted into containers intended for glass (often green or white containers, depending on the local system). Before throwing it in, remove any remaining contents and sort any plastic or metal closures separately according to their material. Observing the local waste sorting rules ensures that the material can be reprocessed and thus reduces the amount of waste.
When selecting a suitable bottle or medicine bottle, you can use the advanced filter located at the top of the page after clicking on the relevant packaging category. In the advanced filter you can combine several criteria at once – for example the type and size of the neck, the overall size of the packaging, the colour or the material. In this way you can easily narrow down the offer to the packaging that is most suitable for your specific product and method of dispensing.
The basis is to check the data in the product parameters, where the type of neck and other important information needed for pairing with closures are given. On Handymade you will find many packaging items with compatible combinations already prepared in advance, which are tested in terms of sealing and functionality. For your own combinations we always recommend ordering a smaller quantity and carrying out a compatibility test with your specific formulation – check the tightness of the closure, the smoothness of dosing and the stability of the product during storage.
