Glass bottle, vial, PP28S, 300 ml

A brown glass bottle with a volume of 300 ml is designed for storing cosmetic and food-grade liquids that need protection from light. Brown glass reduces light penetration to the contents, which is particularly valued for vegetable oils, macerates, herbal extracts, hydrolats and tonics with light-sensitive ingredients. Glass does not absorb the scent or colour of the contents and does not react with essential oils or alcohol.

The larger volume is suitable where a product is used regularly or kept as a stock supply: body and massage oils, facial waters, hair tonics, liquid soaps, alcoholic tinctures. The packaging is also suitable for direct contact with food, making it equally useful for homemade syrups or flavoured oils.

What the bottle is suitable for

• Oil blends and macerates – brown glass slows the effect of light on oils prone to oxidation.
• Hydrolats, tonics and facial waters – with a suitable closure, dispensing from a larger volume remains comfortable.
• Alcoholic tinctures and extracts – glass resists ethanol and concentrated essential oils, which can degrade some plastics.
• Stock packaging – custom blends of fragrance or essential oils, semi-finished products and bases from which smaller containers are filled.
• Food use – syrups, flavoured oils and vinegars, herbal extracts.

Nominal and total volume

Packaging typically lists two volumes. Nominal volume is the quantity the bottle is intended to hold under normal filling. Total volume to the brim is the physical capacity up to the neck. The difference between them provides clearance for the closure, pump or spray head and for expansion of the contents with temperature changes.

Closure and dispensing

The bottle has a PP28S neck thread. Closures with the same neck type and ready-made bottle-and-closure combinations are available in the Handymade range. When making your own combination, we recommend checking tightness, dispensing performance and the behaviour of the packaging with the specific formulation, particularly with thicker oils and products intended for transport.

Good to know

Before first use, wash the bottle with warm water, disinfect with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol and allow it to dry completely. Residual moisture is a particular concern with anhydrous oil-based products, where water should not be present at all.

Brown glass reduces light transmission but does not block it entirely. Products with light-sensitive ingredients should therefore be kept away from direct sunlight and heat sources.

The bottle is suitable for reuse. Glass can be thoroughly cleaned and does not retain the scent of previous contents. The closure should, however, be replaced or carefully inspected before refilling. Dimensions needed for label design are listed in the product parameters; the declaration of conformity is available with the product. Used glass belongs in sorted waste collection.
