Blue Glass Bottle, Black Fine Mist Sprayer, Smoky Overcap, 100 ml

Blue glass protects the contents from light, and the sprayer disperses them into a fine mist. The set combines a 100 ml glass medicine bottle with a black fine mist sprayer and a smoky overcap. You do not need to look for a closure, as the set only needs to be filled. It is suitable for facial toners, hydrosols, refreshing mists, hair sprays and eau de parfum, that is, for anything that is applied in a thin layer and does not need to be poured or dripped.

Both the bottle and the sprayer are declared suitable for contact with cosmetic products. The set as a whole is intended for cosmetics and is not approved for contact with food.

What it is suitable for

With each press, the sprayer dispenses a small amount of liquid, so it is intended for water-based and alcohol-based contents with low viscosity:

• Toners and hydrosols – rose, lavender or cornflower water is applied directly to the skin without a cotton pad.
• Face and body mists – light moisturising sprays with glycerine, aloe or hyaluronic acid in a low concentration.
• Hair sprays – leave-in conditioners or herbal infusions.
• Eau de parfum – alcohol-based compositions that are applied as a fine mist.

Blue glass reduces the amount of light that reaches the contents. You will appreciate this with hydrosols, with contents containing essential oils and with eau de parfum, which change their scent and colour faster in light. The smoky overcap protects the sprayer head from dust and from accidental pressing in a bag or drawer.

Filling and volume

The bottle has a nominal volume of 100 ml. This is the amount the packaging is designed for in normal filling. The brimful volume is the physical volume of the bottle up to the neck and is always somewhat larger. The space at the neck remains free for the sprayer tube and for fitting the closure. Fill the bottle to the nominal volume, not to the brim. If it is overfilled, part of the contents is pushed out when the sprayer is screwed on and soils the thread.

After filling, tighten the sprayer firmly and press it several times to prime it. The tube and the head fill up, and the first dose comes out as a mist.

Good to know

• Preparation before first filling – wash the bottle, disinfect it with alcohol or isopropyl alcohol and leave it to dry completely. Rinse the plastic parts of the sprayer with clean water and leave them to drain.
• Repeated use – the bottle withstands repeated washing and disinfection. When changing the contents, rinse the sprayer with water and spray it through empty, so that no residue of the previous product remains in the tube.
• Essential oils and solvents – glass does not react with them. The plastic parts of the sprayer are under greater strain with a high concentration of essential oils or strong solvents, so with such contents check the tightness and behaviour of the sprayer after several days in the finished formulation.
• Heat – let the contents cool before filling. Do not fill the glass with a hot liquid and avoid sudden changes in temperature.
• Preservation of the contents – water-based and hydrosol contents in a spray need a preservative just as in any other packaging. The sprayer limits contact with fingers, but it does not replace a preservative system.

• Recycling – glass belongs in glass waste, and the PP sprayer in plastics. Take the set apart before discarding it.
