Product description
The complete set of a 30 ml glass bottle with a white matte dropper is designed for liquid cosmetics dispensed drop by drop – facial and hair serums, light oils, essential oil blends in carrier oil, and herbal tinctures. The clear glass lets the contents be seen, which suits products where colour and clarity are part of the overall impression.
The volume corresponds to a standard packaging of a serum or facial oil for several weeks of use. The set is therefore well suited for small batches, samples and test runs, home production, and smaller professional manufacturing. Both the bottle and dropper are declared as suitable for contact with cosmetic products; the declaration of conformity is available with the product.
Why choose this set
- Precise dispensing – the dropper takes only as much as needed; concentrated formulations are neither spilled nor wasted.
- Glass with no effect on the contents – both the bottle and the dropper tube are made of glass that releases nothing into the contents and does not absorb scents, making them suitable for essential oils and oil-based serums as well.
- Visible contents – in the clear bottle, the colour, clarity, and remaining volume of the product are immediately visible.
- Matched closure – the dropper has the same thread type as the bottle; no need to source additional parts or test the seal of various combinations.
- Reusable – after washing and disinfection, the set can be refilled, which pays off for own-production in smaller batches.
What the set is suitable for
The dropper works best with liquid products of low to medium viscosity. These typically include oil-based serums for the face and décolleté area, cuticle and beard oils, hair serums for the ends, essential oil blends diluted in a carrier oil, tinctures and alcohol-based extracts, or water-based serums with hyaluronic acid and other active ingredients applied drop by drop.
The set is not suitable for thick emulsions, gels, masks, or butters – the dropper will not draw them up and dispensing will be unreliable. Water-based tonics can be dispensed with a dropper, but when a larger amount per use is needed, a spray or a bottle with a different closure is more practical.
Nominal and total volume
The nominal volume is the amount the bottle is designed for under normal filling conditions. The total volume to the brim is the physical capacity up to the neck and is somewhat larger. The difference provides a reserve for the glass tube of the dropper, which occupies part of the space once screwed in, and for the expansion of the contents when the temperature changes. The bottle should therefore be filled to the nominal volume, not to the brim. Exact values for both volumes are in the product parameters.
How to work with the set
Before first filling, we recommend washing both the bottle and the dropper, disinfecting with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol, and allowing them to dry completely. Residual water in an oil-based product can shorten its stability and promote microbial growth. Fill using a funnel or a dispensing bottle with a narrow neck to prevent contents from running down the thread – a contaminated thread seals less effectively.
When filling, leave free space in the neck. Once the dropper is screwed in, the tube dips into the contents and the level rises; an overfilled bottle will overflow when closing and product will remain in the thread.
The dropper is tightened by hand without force. When dispensing, squeeze the silicone bulb, submerge the tube in the contents, and release the bulb; the drawn-up product is then dispensed drop by drop by squeezing again. When drawing out the last few millilitres, tilting the bottle slightly helps.
Good to know
Light. Clear glass does not protect the contents from light. For products sensitive to light and oxidation, the finished product should be stored in the dark or in a box, or a brown or blue glass bottle with the same neck type should be chosen. A clear bottle is, on the other hand, a good choice for stable oils and where you want to showcase the colour of the product.
Dropper materials. The dropper combines a collar made of polypropylene, a silicone bulb, and a glass tube. Glass is resistant to cosmetic raw materials; for extracts with a high proportion of essential oils or alcohol, we recommend monitoring the behaviour of the silicone bulb over time. Product should not enter the bulb – after use, empty the dropper back into the bottle and store the bottle in an upright position.
Do not fill the glass bottle with hot contents and do not expose it to sudden temperature changes. Glass can crack from thermal shock; allow oil and water phases to cool to room temperature before filling.
Other closures. If you want to use the bottle with a cap, pump, or spray, closures with the same neck type as stated in the parameters are suitable; ready-made combinations can be found in the Handymade range. With a custom combination, we recommend verifying the seal and dispensing with the specific formulation.
Recycling. The bottle is made of glass and belongs in glass waste. The dropper combines glass, plastic, and silicone, so when sorting, separate the glass tube from the plastic collar with the bulb.
