Product description
A green glass medicine bottle with a white dropper is ready-made packaging for products that are dispensed drop by drop: facial serums, face and hair oils, essential oil blends, tinctures or concentrated active ingredients added to cosmetics in small amounts. The green glass reduces the amount of light reaching the contents, and the dropper measures out a precise amount without needlessly pouring out the rest of the contents. The narrow neck of the medicine bottle also limits contact between the contents and air.
The set consists of a bottle with a nominal volume of 30 ml and a dropper with a tamper-evident ring; the length of the dropper is matched to the height of the bottle. Both components are declared suitable for contact with cosmetic products; the set is not approved for contact with food.
What it is suitable for
- Facial serums – both water-based and oil-based serums are dispensed from the dropper straight onto your palm or skin, without your fingers touching the contents of the bottle.
- Face and hair oils – the green glass and narrow neck slow down the effects of light and air, which is an advantage for oils prone to oxidation.
- Essential oil blends and fragrance compositions – dispensing by the drop is more precise with concentrated raw materials than pouring from the neck.
- Tinctures and alcohol extracts – glass does not react with alcohol, and the 30 ml volume corresponds to a common amount for home use.
- Active ingredients for formulations – vitamin solutions, antioxidants or extracts that are added to creams and serums by the drop.
How the set works
The dropper consists of a glass tube, a silicone bulb and a plastic screw cap with a tamper-evident ring. When the cap is unscrewed for the first time, the ring separates from the cap, so it is obvious at first glance that the packaging has already been opened. You will appreciate this for products intended for sale or gifting, where intact packaging matters.
Squeezing the bulb draws the contents into the tube, and the liquid is pressed out drop by drop exactly where it is needed. The length of the tube is matched to the height of the bottle so that it also reaches the remaining contents at the bottom. After use, simply screw the dropper back on; the thread on the neck of the bottle seals it without any additional inserts.
Thicker oils and serums with higher viscosity are drawn into the dropper more slowly and form larger drops. For formulations at the limit of fluidity, we recommend testing the dispensing before filling the whole batch.
Nominal and total volume
The nominal volume of 30 ml is the amount the bottle is designed for in normal filling. The brimful capacity given in the parameters is the physical volume up to the neck and is always slightly larger. The difference provides a reserve for the dropper tube, which pushes part of the contents upwards when screwed in, and for the expansion of the liquid with temperature changes. The bottle should therefore be filled to the nominal volume, not to the brim. If it is overfilled, the contents overflow through the neck when the dropper is fitted and soil the thread, which then seals less well.
Good to know
Before first filling, we recommend washing the bottle and the dropper, disinfecting them with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol and leaving them to dry completely. With water-based formulations, no drops of water may remain in the bottle, as they would change the concentration of the preservative in the finished product.
Glass itself is resistant to concentrated essential oils and solvents, but check the behaviour of the silicone bulb and the plastic cap with your specific raw material. The set is reusable and can be filled again after thorough washing and disinfection. Glass does not tolerate sudden temperature changes, so let a hot mixture cool to at least room temperature before filling.
The set is not approved for contact with food. Use it only for cosmetic and technical preparations, not for edible oils, syrups or extracts intended for consumption.
The bottle is made of glass and belongs in glass recycling once empty. You can find other closures for the same neck type and ready-made bottle + closure combinations in the Handymade range. For your own combination, we recommend checking the tightness and the behaviour of the packaging with your specific formulation.
