Product description

This 30 ml glass bottle with a white glossy dropper dispenses liquid cosmetic preparations drop by drop. It is suitable for facial serums, facial and hair oils, blends with essential oils or tinctures where a small amount needs to be measured out. The clear glass shows the colour and clarity of the contents, so it works well for products where the filling should be visible at first glance.

The dropper consists of a glass tube, a white PP screw closure and a silicone bulb. It is mainly the glass part that comes into contact with the contents, which you will appreciate with oils and blends with essential oils. The length of the tube matches the height of this bottle and reaches almost to the bottom, so the contents can be used up without tilting the bottle. The whole set is declared as suitable for contact with cosmetic products; it is intended for cosmetics, not for food.

Key benefits

  • Drop-by-drop dispensing – with serums, concentrates and oils, a few drops are enough, and the dropper dispenses them precisely and without spilling.
  • Clear glass – the contents are visible, so both the maker and the customer can immediately recognise the colour, any cloudiness or the amount of filling left.
  • Glass tube – it does not absorb the scent or colour of the filling and can be washed thoroughly.
  • Closure with 18/410 neck finish – the dropper screws on firmly and seals once closed.
  • Reusable – the bottle and the dropper can be used again after washing and disinfection.

What it is suitable for

It works well with liquid and slightly viscous fillings: facial and hair oils, oil serums, serums based on water or glycerine, alcohol tinctures, diluted blends of essential oils and raw material samples. In cosmetics making, it also serves as a dispenser for concentrated active ingredients, preservatives or fragrance compositions, where amounts are counted in drops.

A dropper draws up thick gels, emulsions and creams poorly or not at all. For such textures, choose a jar or a bottle with a pump.

Clear glass does not protect the contents from light. Store oils and preparations with sensitive active ingredients in the dark or in a box, or choose amber or blue glass for them.

Filling and volume

The nominal volume is the amount the bottle is designed for with normal filling. The total volume to the brim, given in the parameters, is the physical volume up to the neck. The difference between them is a reserve for the glass tube, which pushes part of the contents upwards when screwed in, and for the expansion of the filling when the temperature changes. That is why you should fill up to the nominal volume, not to the brim. An overfilled bottle overflows when closed and the contents end up on the thread.

With undiluted essential oils, alcohol tinctures or preparations containing solvents, check beforehand how the specific formulation behaves with the silicone bulb and the closure seal.

Good to know

Before the first filling, wash the bottle and the dropper, disinfect them with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol and let them dry completely. Residual water in the dropper would dilute an oil filling or introduce a microbial load into the product.

Let heated oil blends or freshly prepared serums cool to room temperature before filling. Glass tolerates sudden temperature changes poorly.

Before transporting finished products, check that the dropper seals with the given filling, especially if the filling is as thin as water. If you want to close the bottle differently, you will find closures with the same neck type and ready-made combinations in the Handymade range. With your own combination, check the tightness and dispensing.

The bottle goes into glass waste. When recycling the dropper, separate the glass tube from the plastic closure and the silicone bulb.

Frequently asked questions

Does a clear glass bottle with a dropper protect the contents from light?
No, clear glass does not filter out light and does not protect the contents from it. It is therefore suitable for fillings that are not so sensitive to light, or for products stored in a box or in the dark. For oils prone to oxidation and for preparations with sensitive active ingredients, amber or blue glass is the safer choice.
How much liquid fits into a 30 ml glass bottle with a dropper?
The bottle is designed for 30 ml of filling, which is its nominal volume. Physically, slightly more fits in it, and you will find the total volume to the brim in the parameters. The difference serves as a reserve for the glass tube of the dropper, which takes up part of the space once screwed in, and for the expansion of the contents. Fill up to the nominal volume.
Is a glass bottle with a dropper suitable for essential oils?
Yes, for diluted blends of essential oils in a carrier oil; the glass tube and the bottle are commonly used for them. With undiluted essential oils, check beforehand how the silicone bulb and the closure seal behave with the specific oil. Pure essential oils act more aggressively on materials than their diluted blends.
Can a glass bottle with a dropper be washed and reused?
Yes, the bottle and the dropper are designed to be reused. Wash the glass parts in warm water with detergent, rinse them and disinfect them with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol. Squeeze the silicone bulb several times in clean water to flush out any residue of the filling. Everything must be completely dry before the new filling.
Will the dropper also draw up a thicker serum or gel?
The dropper reliably draws up only liquid and slightly viscous fillings, for example oils, water-based serums or tinctures. Thick gels with a higher proportion of thickener and emulsions are drawn up slowly or not at all, and they do not drip evenly from the tip. For such textures, a jar or a bottle with a pump is more suitable.
Which closures fit a 30 ml glass bottle with an 18/410 neck finish?
All closures with the same neck type as stated in the parameters fit the bottle. The dropper is part of this set, but it can be replaced with another closure with the same thread, for example a cap or a fine mist sprayer from the Handymade range. With your own combination, check the tightness and dispensing with the specific filling.
