Product description
A glass dropper bottle, 30 ml, is a complete set for dispensing liquid cosmetic preparations drop by drop. It consists of a milky-white translucent glass bottle and a white glossy dropper with a glass pipette and silicone bulb, which fit together precisely thanks to the same neck type. It is particularly suitable for facial serums, oil elixirs, blends of essential oils in carrier oil, tinctures, and hair and nail oils – in short, wherever a small amount needs to be dispensed and the contents should be protected from air and unnecessary handling.
Milk glass transmits light only in a diffused way, so the contents are not exposed to direct light as they would be in a clear bottle, while the fill level and approximate colour of the contents remain visible. The white dropper gives the set a clean, bright appearance that suits both facial and natural cosmetics.
What the set offers
- Precise dispensing – the dropper measures out a few drops of serum or oil without spilling and without finger contact with the contents, which is an advantage with active ingredients and more expensive oils.
- Diffused light – milk glass reduces the effect of light on the contents and helps protect sensitive ingredients, such as vegetable oils prone to oxidation or vitamins in serums.
- Glass without interaction with contents – glass does not react with oils, essential oils or alcohol solutions, does not absorb scent and can be reused.
- Ready-matched combination – both the bottle and dropper share the same neck type, listed in the specifications, so they fit together tightly without needing to search for a compatible closure.
- Declared suitability for cosmetics – the packaging material of both the bottle and dropper is suitable for use with cosmetic products; a declaration of conformity is available with the product.
What the set is suitable for
The 30 ml volume is a standard size for leave-on facial preparations dispensed drop by drop and used within a few months:
- facial serums – both water-based and oil-based, applied in 2 – 4 drops,
- facial and hair oils, blends of carrier oil with essential oils,
- nail and cuticle oils, beard oils,
- tinctures and alcohol extracts for cosmetic use,
- samples and test batches of new formulations when you do not want to fill a large container.
The dropper is not suitable for thick creams, high-viscosity gels or preparations containing particles, as these cannot be drawn up into the pipette or may block it. For such textures a pump bottle or jar is a better choice.
Nominal and total volume
Nominal volume is the amount the bottle is designed to hold under normal filling conditions and is the figure stated on the product label. Total volume to the brim is the physical capacity up to the neck and is always slightly larger; exact values for both are listed in the specifications. The difference between them is a deliberate reserve for the dropper's glass pipette, which takes up some space once screwed in, and for the expansion of contents with temperature changes.
Fill the bottle to the nominal volume, not to the brim. If overfilled, inserting the dropper will push the contents through the neck, soil the thread and the set may no longer seal properly.
How to use the set
Before the first filling, we recommend washing and disinfecting both the bottle and dropper with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol and allowing them to dry completely. Residual water in the glass pipette would enter the oil-based preparation and could impair its stability.
After filling, the dropper is screwed onto the neck by hand, without force. To dispense, squeeze the bulb, submerge the pipette in the contents and release the bulb to draw up the liquid. Release the drops by applying light, gradual pressure. Thinner preparations, particularly alcohol-based ones, drip faster than thick oils, so it is worth testing the dispensing with a new formulation.
If the formulation contains a higher proportion of essential oils or solvents, test how the silicone bulb behaves with prolonged contact with the contents before preparing a larger batch. Silicone is resistant, but concentrated essential oils may, in some blends, affect its elasticity over time.
Good to know
- Labelling – the bottle has a cylindrical shape with a flat surface for a label. A transparent film also adheres to milk glass, but a white label gives a cleaner appearance.
- Glass and heat – glass tolerates hot filling better than plastic, but a sudden transition from hot to cold can cause cracking. Allow hot mixtures to cool to lukewarm before filling.
- Reuse – after thorough washing and disinfection the set can be refilled; the procedure is described in the FAQ below.
- Other closures – if you want to use the bottle with a different closure, choose closures with the same neck type listed in the specifications; ready-matched combinations as well as individual bottles and droppers can be found in the Handymade range. With a custom combination we recommend checking the seal and dispensing performance with your specific formulation.
- Recycling – the bottle belongs in glass waste; the dropper is a combination of plastic, silicone and glass, so separate it from the bottle before disposal.
