Clear Glass Bottle, Black Safety Cap & Dropper 30 ml

This 30 ml clear glass bottle with a long plastic dropper insert and a black ribbed safety cap is used for dispensing liquid products drop by drop. The clear glass shows the colour and purity of the contents, so you can see at a glance how much product is left and whether anything has settled in it. The small volume suits concentrated products of which only a few drops are used per day, for example oil serums, facial oils, essential oil blends or tinctures.

The whole set is declared suitable for contact with cosmetic products. It is not intended for food. Clear glass does not restrict the passage of light, so it suits contents that are not affected by light, or products that are used up quickly and stored in the dark.

How the set works

After filling, the dropper insert is pressed into the neck of the bottle and stays there permanently. When you tilt the bottle, the contents come out one drop at a time, so there is no risk of a larger amount pouring out at once. The cap is screwed on over the dropper insert and closes the bottle.

The ribbed surface of the cap makes it easier to open, even with oily fingers, which is useful with oil-based products.

What it is suitable for

• Oil serums and facial oils – drop-by-drop dispensing corresponds to the amount that is actually applied to the face.
• Essential oil blends – concentrated fragrances are dispensed in drops, and the small volume lets you keep several blends at once.
• Tinctures and alcohol extracts – glass does not react with alcohol; we recommend checking how the plastic dropper insert behaves with your specific contents.
• Samples and test batches – a volume of 30 ml is enough to try out a formulation without wasting raw materials.

Thicker products, such as emulsions, gels or balms, will not flow through the dropper insert. Packaging with a pump or a jar is more suitable for them.

Nominal and total volume

The nominal volume of 30 ml is the amount the bottle is designed for in normal filling. The brimful capacity given in the parameters is the physical volume of the glass up to the top of the neck. The difference between them is a reserve for the dropper insert, which takes up part of the space when it is pressed into the neck, and for the expansion of the contents with changes in temperature. The bottle should therefore be filled to the nominal volume. If it is filled to the brim, the dropper insert displaces the contents and the product runs down the outside of the neck.

Good to know

The dropper insert is made of polypropylene and the cap of polyethylene. Both parts are intended for cosmetic products. With higher concentrations of essential oils or solvents, or with alcohol tinctures, we recommend checking whether the plastic changes after longer contact and whether the dropper insert continues to seal.

The dripping speed depends on the viscosity of the contents and on how sharply the bottle is tilted. Thin oils and alcohol solutions flow faster than thick oils, so it is worth testing the dispensing on the first batch and, if necessary, adjusting the instructions for use.

Glass does not tolerate sudden changes in temperature. Let a hot product cool before filling, and do not fill a cold bottle with hot contents. When empty, the bottle is sorted as glass, while the dropper insert and the cap belong with plastics. After thorough washing and disinfection, the bottle can be reused.
