Product description
A green glass bottle with a dropper dispenses oils, serums and tinctures drop by drop. The set combines a coloured glass medicine bottle with a volume of 30 ml and a white matte dropper with an 18/410 neck finish, so it is supplied as a ready-made pair that you only need to fill and screw on. Green glass filters out some of the light, and glass does not react with oils or alcohol extracts.
The dropper dispenses individual drops, which pays off with concentrated products. Only as much as needed goes onto the skin, and the rest stays in the closed bottle. The whole set is declared as suitable for contact with cosmetic products.
What it is suitable for
- Facial serums and oil blends – drop-by-drop dispensing lets you apply a precise amount to the face or décolleté without waste.
- Essential oil blends in a carrier oil – diluted aromatherapy blends, cuticle oils and massage concentrates where the number of drops matters.
- Alcohol extracts for cosmetic use – facial toners and alcohol-based hair tonics. Glass is resistant to alcohol and the dropper makes it easier to measure into another preparation. The set is not food packaging.
- Samples and test batches – the small volume is suitable for trying out a new recipe or for gift packaging.
- Hair and beard care – oils for hair ends and beard oils that are dispensed in a few drops into the palm.
How to use the set
The dropper consists of a white matte cap, a silicone bulb and a glass tube. The length of the tube is matched to the height of the bottle: it reaches almost to the bottom and draws up even the last of the contents. Squeezing the bulb with the tube submerged draws the contents in, and releasing it over the application area dispenses them drop by drop. With thicker oils such as castor oil, drawing up is slower and the drops are larger. Thin serums with a water phase flow quickly and in tiny drops.
Fill it to the nominal volume of 30 ml, not to the brim. The nominal volume is the amount the packaging is designed for under normal filling. The brimful volume given in the parameters is the physical volume up to the neck. The difference between them forms a reserve for the dropper tube, which pushes the level up once screwed in, and for the expansion of the contents when the temperature changes.
Before the first filling, wash the bottle and the dropper, disinfect them with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol and let them dry completely. Residual water in an oil product reduces its stability, and in water-based products it introduces microbes even before preservation.
Good to know
After thorough washing and disinfection, the glass bottle can be reused, including for a different recipe. We recommend replacing the dropper when you change the contents, as the silicone bulb and the tube may retain the scent of the previous product. For blends with a higher proportion of undiluted essential oils or solvents, first check how the bulb behaves during longer contact with the particular formulation.
Green glass filters out some light, but not all of it. Store preparations with sensitive oils, such as flaxseed, evening primrose or blackcurrant oil, and with active ingredients that break down in light, away from direct sunlight, even in this bottle. Glass does not tolerate sudden temperature changes well, so fill the bottle with the oil phase once it has cooled, not hot straight after heating.
When shipping or packing the bottle into a travel bag, we recommend wrapping it in an upright position and checking beforehand that the particular formulation does not leak around the thread.
The set has a uniform 18/410 neck finish. You can find other closures with the same type of neck, as well as further ready-made packaging + closure combinations, in the Handymade range. If you make your own combination, we recommend checking the tightness, the dispensing and the behaviour of the packaging with your particular formulation. Once empty, the bottle belongs in glass recycling, while the dropper is made of plastic, silicone and glass and is sorted according to its predominant material.
