Rounded Clear Plastic Bottle, Silver Cap, 100 ml

A clear, round PET bottle with a volume of 100 ml comes together with a matte silver screw cap, so once filled it only needs to be closed. The clear wall lets you see the colour and the level of the contents, and the plastic is light and does not break when dropped. It is therefore suitable for products that are carried in a bag, stand on the edge of a bath or are sent to customers as a sample.

A volume of 100 ml corresponds to a travel size or a smaller test batch. The bottle is filled with liquid and slightly thicker products that are poured out through the neck by tilting the bottle: facial toners, micellar water, body lotion, hair and massage oils, liquid soap, shampoo or shower gel. The 24/410 neck finish is among the most common, so the supplied cap can later be replaced with a different closure.

Suitable for products such as

• Toners and facial waters – thin water-based products are dispensed in small amounts from the narrow neck onto a cotton pad or into the palm.
• Body lotions and light emulsions – these are poured out by tilting the bottle. Thicker creams do not pass easily through the neck and are better suited to a jar.
• Vegetable and massage oils – PET is compatible with oils. However, the clear wall does not protect light-sensitive oils.
• Liquid soap, shampoo, shower gel – the volume of 100 ml corresponds to the hand luggage limit and is suitable for travel as well as for a gym bag.
• Samples and test batches – through the clear wall you can see cloudiness, sediment or phase separation, which helps when testing a formulation.

Nominal and total volume

The nominal volume of 100 ml is the amount the bottle is designed for in normal filling. The total brimful volume, stated in the parameters, is the physical volume up to the neck. The difference between them is a reserve for the cap and for the expansion of the contents when the temperature changes, for example in a car or during summer transport.

Cap and closing

The cap is made of polypropylene and LDPE, screws directly onto the 24/410 neck finish and the contents are dispensed by pouring through the neck. The matte silver surface stands out on a clear bottle. If you combine the bottle with a different closure, we recommend checking the tightness and dispensing with your specific formulation. It is worth testing the tightness with the finished product before filling the whole run. Fill the bottle, close it, lay it on its side and leave it for several hours on a paper towel. With thin products such as toners or hydrosols, any leakage shows up faster than with oils.

Good to know

Before the first filling, wash the bottle and the cap, disinfect them with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol and leave them to dry completely with the neck facing down. A new bottle may contain dust from production and transport, which would sooner or later show in a clear bottle.

PET must not be hot-filled. Let emulsions, gels and liquid soap cool to room temperature before filling, otherwise the wall of the bottle will deform. For the same reason the bottle cannot be sterilised by boiling or in an oven. Disinfection with alcohol is sufficient.

Clear plastic does not block light. Serums with vitamin C, oils prone to yellowing or products with a higher proportion of essential oils last longer in an amber or blue bottle, or at least in a box away from the window.

After thorough washing, the bottle and the cap can be reused. Before the next filling, check that the wall is not scratched or cloudy, that no scent of the previous contents remains in it and that the thread of the cap still fits tightly. Both components are recyclable plastics: the bottle is made of PET, the cap of PP and LDPE.
