Product description

Clear round plastic bottle, smooth white cap with reducer, 150 ml

A ready-made packaging and closure set: a clear round 150 ml PET bottle with a smooth white cap with reducer that screws directly onto the bottle. The set is designed for dispensing liquid and slightly thicker contents. The reducer in the cap narrows the neck to a small opening, so the contents do not pour out all at once but are dispensed drop by drop or in a thin stream. Suitable for body and massage oils, facial and hair tonics, liquid soaps and shampoos without a pump, mouthwashes, alcohol extracts, and homemade cleaning solutions.

The clear bottle shows the contents and their colour, which is practical with coloured oils, tonics with plant extracts, or when you need to see how much product remains. PET is lightweight and shatter-resistant, so the set is suitable for travel, the bathroom, customer samples, and products sent by post. Both the bottle and the cap are declared as suitable for contact with cosmetic products; the declaration of conformity is included with the product.

How the set works

  • Bottle – the round body with straight walls fits well in the hand and labels easily. Label dimensions are listed in the product parameters.
  • Cap with reducer – the smooth white cap screws onto the bottle neck; the reducer is a plastic insert with a small opening seated in the neck. With the cap unscrewed, the contents are dispensed through the reducer; when the cap is screwed on, it closes the neck and the reducer limits leakage when the bottle is turned upside down.
  • Dispensing – thinner liquids (tonics, hydrolats, alcohol extracts) flow drop by drop to a thin stream, while thicker contents (oils, light gels) flow more slowly and in a controlled manner. Very thick creams or gels will not pass through the reducer; this set is not suitable for them.

Nominal and total volume

Nominal volume is the volume the bottle is designed for under normal filling conditions. Total volume to the brim is the physical capacity up to the neck and is slightly larger. The difference provides a reserve for the reducer seated in the neck and for the expansion of contents when the temperature changes. The bottle should therefore be filled to the nominal volume, not to the brim. Otherwise, when the reducer is inserted, the contents will be forced out and the closure will seal poorly.

When filling for the first time, check on a single bottle where the liquid level sits at the nominal volume, and adjust the fill dose for the entire batch accordingly. This will prevent the contents from overflowing when inserting the reducer.

Good to know

  • Preparation before filling – rinse the bottle and cap with reducer before first use, sanitise with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol, and allow to dry completely. Residual water would dilute anhydrous products and could promote microbial growth in water-based formulations.
  • Light – clear PET does not protect the contents from light. Store light-sensitive products (unrefined oils, vitamin C, some essential oils, extracts with colorants) away from direct sunlight or choose a dark container.
  • Heat – PET is not intended for hot filling. Fill oils, tonics, and emulsions once cooled to room temperature, and do not leave bottles near a heat source or in the sun where they may deform.
  • Essential oils and solvents – at a high proportion of essential oils, pure essential oils, or solvents, PET may soften, become cloudy, or absorb the scent. With such contents, verify compatibility in advance on a single bottle over a period of several weeks. For standard cosmetic concentrations, PET is stable.
  • Reuse – both the bottle and cap can be reused after thorough cleaning and disinfection. The reducer can be carefully removed from the neck and cleaned. With thicker contents, wash it immediately after emptying to prevent the opening from clogging.
  • Recycling – the bottle is made of PET, the cap with reducer of polypropylene. Both materials belong in sorted plastic waste.

The set is not intended for aggressive chemicals, concentrated acids, bases, or organic solvents at technical concentrations. If you use it for homemade cleaning solutions, stick to diluted, commonly used concentrations.

Closures and combinations

The bottle has a neck with the thread type specified in the product parameters. Additional closures with the same neck type and ready-made bottle-and-closure combinations are available in the Handymade range. For custom combinations, we recommend verifying the seal, dispensing behaviour, and packaging performance with your specific formulation.

Frequently asked questions

What is the reducer in the cap of a 150 ml plastic bottle for?
The reducer is an insert with a small opening seated in the bottle neck that restricts the flow of the contents. It allows the liquid to be dispensed drop by drop or in a thin stream rather than pouring out through the entire neck. It is practical with oils, tonics, and liquid soaps where you want to control the amount dispensed and also reduce the risk of spillage when the bottle is turned upside down.
Does the clear 150 ml PET bottle protect the contents from light?
No, clear PET does not block light. It is suitable for contents that are not light-sensitive, or for products stored in a cabinet or box. For unrefined oils, vitamin C, or light-sensitive extracts, a dark container is more appropriate, or store the product away from direct sunlight.
Is the 150 ml plastic bottle and reducer cap set suitable for thick creams?
No, only liquid and slightly thicker contents will pass through the reducer. Thick creams, body butters, and solid gels cannot be dispensed from a bottle with a reducer. The set is intended primarily for oils, tonics, hydrolats, liquid soaps, shampoos, and alcohol extracts. For creams, a jar or a bottle with a pump is more suitable.
Can the 150 ml plastic bottle with reducer be hot-filled?
No, PET is not intended for hot filling. The contents should be at room temperature when filling; otherwise the bottle may deform or the neck may change shape, which will compromise the cap's seal. Allow emulsions, oils, and extracts to cool before filling.
Is the 150 ml plastic bottle with reducer cap suitable for essential oils?
For standard cosmetic blends with a low proportion of essential oils, yes; for pure essential oils and their high concentrations, caution is advised. Concentrated essential oils and solvents may over time cause PET to become cloudy, soften, or absorb the scent. With such contents, verify compatibility in advance on a single bottle over a period of several weeks.
