White Plastic Bottle, Transparent Spray with Glossy Silver Collar, 200 ml

The white 200 ml PET bottle with a clear fine mist sprayer and a silver glossy collar dispenses thin liquids as a fine mist, from hydrosols to hair sprays. The bottle and the sprayer both have a 24/410 neck finish, so they fit together without any adjustment.

The bottle is light and does not break when dropped, so it holds up in the bathroom and while travelling. The white wall conceals the contents and reduces the light that reaches them, so you can also fill it with products containing plant extracts or hydrosols, which lose colour or fragrance faster in light. The clear sprayer with a silver collar gives the set the look of a finished product.

What the set is suitable for

• Toners and hydrosols – low-viscosity water-based products that you apply to the face or body without touching them by hand.
• Hair sprays – moisturising or styling water-based sprays, optionally with a share of glycerine or hydrosols.
• Refreshing and fragrance sprays – body sprays, fabric sprays or room sprays.
• Hand disinfectant sprays – alcohol solutions where you want to cover a larger area with a small amount.
• Production aid – alcohol sprayed on fresh soap to prevent soda ash, or water when working with clay or pressing bath bombs.

The 200 ml size pays off for products that are used daily and in larger amounts. It is needlessly large for a serum or a concentrated perfume, but it suits a body spray or a toner for the whole family.

How the sprayer dispenses

The mechanical fine mist sprayer draws the liquid up through a dip tube from the bottom of the bottle, and one press releases approximately 0.12 ml as a fine mist. The amount depends on how hard you press and on the viscosity of the contents. It sprays water, hydrosols and alcohol solutions best. Thin oils can be sprayed, but the mist is usually coarser and the nozzle needs cleaning more often.

When assembling, check that the dip tube reaches the bottom. If it is longer and bends, carefully shorten it with a sharp knife. A bent tube leaves part of the contents unused at the bottom.

Filling and capacity

The nominal volume of 200 ml is the amount the bottle is designed for in normal filling. Physically, more fits into it, up to the neck. This space is a reserve for the sprayer’s dip tube and for the expansion of the contents when the temperature changes. Therefore fill up to the nominal volume. If you fill the bottle to the brim, part of the contents is pushed out when you screw on the sprayer, and the bottle is harder to close.

Fill with contents that have cooled down. PET is not designed for hot filling; heat deforms the bottle wall and can also change the tightness of the neck.

Preparation and reuse

Before the first filling, wash the bottle and the sprayer, disinfect them with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol and let them dry completely. Rinse the sprayer by spraying clean water through it several times and then alcohol, so that the whole channel and the nozzle are cleaned.

The set can be used repeatedly. When changing the contents, proceed in the same way as for the first filling. With fragranced products, bear in mind that the plastic and the dip tube may retain a trace of the previous fragrance.

Good to know

The set as a whole is declared suitable for contact with cosmetics; you will find the declaration of conformity with the product. Only the bottle has a separate certificate for direct food contact; the sprayer does not have one. Therefore fill the set with cosmetic and technical products, not with food.

For formulations with a higher share of essential oils or with strong solvents, we recommend testing the behaviour of both the PET and the sprayer seals on a test bottle over several weeks. The white wall of the bottle does not show the level, so you can estimate the amount of remaining contents only by weight or by shaking.

The bottle is made of PET and belongs in the sorted plastic waste collection. The sprayer combines plastic with an aluminium collar, so separate it from the bottle before recycling.
