Product description

The white plastic 200 ml bottle with a white mini trigger sprayer forms a ready-to-use set for liquid cosmetic products that are applied by spraying. It is suitable for facial and body toners, hydrolates, refreshing face and body mists, leave-in hair sprays or alcohol-based hand sprays. The bottle is made of PET, is lightweight and, unlike glass, does not break when dropped. You can therefore take it to the gym or on trips, or leave it in the bathroom, without worry.

The white wall of the bottle hides the contents and limits the access of light to them, which you will appreciate with hydrolates and products containing light-sensitive ingredients. The PP sprayer has a smooth collar and the same white colour, so the set looks uniform. The set as a whole is declared as suitable for contact with cosmetics.

How the set dispenses

The sprayer screws onto the 24/410 neck finish and draws liquid from the bottle through a dip tube. Each press releases a small dose, approximately 0.12 ml, dispersed into a mist. The product is thus applied evenly and without your hands touching the contents, which is an advantage with toners and sprays used several times a day.

The mechanism is designed for thin liquids: aqueous solutions, hydrolates, alcohol-based sprays and very light water gels. Thick liquids, emulsions and pure oils are not dispersed evenly by the sprayer. With these, the nozzle is harder to clean and may clog.

Before first filling, rinse the bottle, disinfect it with ethanol or isopropyl alcohol and let it dry completely. After screwing on the sprayer, press it several times without product until the tube fills and the mist starts coming out regularly.

What it is suitable for

  • Facial and body toners – watery consistency, regular use, applied directly to the skin or on a cotton pad.
  • Hydrolates – a thin watery liquid that the sprayer disperses without problems. The 200 ml volume corresponds to a common pack size for home use.
  • Refreshing and thermal water sprays – the fine mist applies well to the face, including over make-up.
  • Leave-in hair sprays – detangling and protective water-based sprays, where the contents need to be distributed along the whole length of the hair.
  • Alcohol-based sprays – hand sanitising sprays and water-alcohol fresheners with a light consistency.

Nominal and total volume

The 200 ml figure is the nominal volume, that is, the amount the bottle is intended for under normal filling. Physically, more fits into it up to the neck. The difference serves as a reserve for the tube and the body of the sprayer and for the expansion of the contents when the temperature changes. The bottle is therefore filled only up to the nominal volume. If it is overfilled, the liquid is pushed out through the neck when the sprayer is screwed on.

Good to know

  • The level is not visible – the white wall is opaque, so the remaining amount is estimated by the weight of the bottle.
  • Filling temperature – let the product cool to room temperature before filling, as PET is not suitable for hot filling.
  • Essential oils and solvents – for products with a higher proportion of essential oils, fragrance compositions or solvents, we recommend checking the behaviour of the bottle and the sprayer with your specific formulation. The packaging should not be exposed to aggressive chemicals.
  • Reuse – both the bottle and the sprayer can be used again after thorough washing. Rinse the sprayer by screwing it onto a bottle of clean water and spraying several times.
  • Other closures – other closures with the same 24/410 neck finish from the Handymade range also fit the bottle; if you combine them yourself, we recommend checking the tightness and dispensing with your specific formulation.
  • Recycling – the PET bottle and the PP sprayer belong with plastics; unscrew and empty them before disposal.

The set as a whole is not approved for contact with food. Only the bottle on its own has a certificate for direct food contact; the sprayer does not have one. The set is therefore intended for cosmetics.

Frequently asked questions

Is the 200 ml plastic bottle with a sprayer suitable for hydrolates and toners?
Yes, water-based products such as hydrolates and toners are the main use for this set. The sprayer disperses the thin liquid into a fine mist and the white wall of the bottle limits the access of light to the contents. Let the product cool before filling and fill it only up to the nominal volume of 200 ml, so that a reserve remains for the tube and the expansion of the contents after the sprayer is screwed on.
Can I fill the sprayer bottle with oil?
We do not recommend pure oil for this set. The mini trigger sprayer is designed for thin water-based and alcohol-based liquids; it does not disperse oil into an even mist and the mechanism gradually clogs. A bottle with a pump or a dropper is more suitable for oil-based products. Very light water gels can be tried, but the behaviour needs to be checked in the finished formulation.
Does the white plastic bottle protect the contents from light?
The white wall of the bottle hides the contents and significantly limits the access of light, but it does not guarantee complete darkness. Light-sensitive products, for example hydrolates and toners with plant extracts, should therefore be stored out of direct sunlight. A drawback of the opaque wall is that the level of the contents is not visible.
How much liquid fits into the 200 ml bottle?
The bottle is designed for 200 ml, which is its nominal volume under normal filling. More fits up to the rim of the neck, but this space is a reserve for the tube and the body of the sprayer and for the expansion of the contents when the temperature changes. If it is filled to the rim, the liquid is pushed out when the sprayer is screwed on.
Is the bottle and sprayer set suitable for contact with food?
No, the set as a whole is not approved for contact with food. Only the bottle on its own has a certificate for direct food contact; the sprayer does not have such a certificate. The bottle and sprayer set is intended for cosmetic products, for which both components are declared.
How do I prepare the bottle and sprayer before first filling, and can they be reused?
Before first filling, the bottle is rinsed, disinfected with ethanol or isopropyl alcohol and left to dry completely. After the sprayer is screwed on, it is pressed several times without product until the tube fills. Both parts can be used repeatedly: the sprayer is cleaned by spraying clean water through it, and the bottle by normal washing and drying.
