Dark brown glass jar with black lid is a practical and aesthetic packaging solution intended primarily for filling creamy, gel-based and loose (powder) products. The dark glass helps protect more sensitive ingredients from light, thereby contributing to maintaining the stability and quality of the contents during storage and use. The combination of durable glass and a robust closure ensures reliable sealing and comfortable handling for both home production and professional filling.
This glass jar is supplied as a jar + lid combination, creating a complete, functional package ready for filling. The packaging and closure combinations created directly on Handymade are tested and functional. However, for all combinations we always recommend carrying out your own compatibility test (sealing, dispensing and behaviour of the packaging in contact with the specific formulation) to ensure optimal user comfort and long-term product stability.
All technical parameters of the packaging are specified in the enclosed Packaging Quality Certificate and in the product parameters.
Detailed information on material composition, glass type, suitability for different types of fills and recommended conditions of use is available in the parameter table on the product page and in the documentation that forms part of the packaging. Before including this packaging in your production, we recommend carefully checking this data and aligning it with the requirements of your formulation and applicable legislation.
Yes, the glass jar with lid is suitable for thick creams, balms, butters and scrubs. The wide mouth allows easy filling and convenient product pick-up by hand or with a spatula. However, before using it in final production, we always recommend testing how your specific formulation behaves over time and under normal use, so that you can be sure that the texture and application are comfortable for the end customer.
The packaging can be reused provided that hygiene principles are observed. Before each new filling, it is essential to thoroughly clean the jar and lid mechanically and then disinfect them with a suitable alcohol-based product, for example isopropyl alcohol (IPA 99 % isopropyl alcohol) or plant-based ethanol (Ethanol 96 % denatured plant-based). This will reduce the risk of microbial contamination and of affecting the fragrance, colour or stability of the next fill. When switching to a different type of product (e.g. from a balm to a cream), we recommend even more thorough cleaning and checking for any residual fragrances or pigments.
Before filling, we recommend first washing the packaging with lukewarm water and a suitable cleaning agent, rinsing thoroughly and allowing it to dry completely. Disinfection is then important – treat the internal surfaces and the threads with an alcohol-based disinfectant solution, for example using the products IPA 99 isopropyl alcohol 1 l or Ethanol 96 denatured plant-based 1 l. After the alcohol has evaporated, you can safely fill the jar. Take care not to touch the inner part of the packaging with bare hands in order to minimize the risk of recontamination.
If you decide not to reuse the packaging, we recommend recycling it in accordance with the material composition specified in the product parameters. The glass container can generally be placed in a glass recycling bin after removing any remaining contents, while the plastic or composite lid belongs in plastic recycling or mixed waste, depending on local rules. Always follow the information in the parameter table and local waste-sorting guidelines to ensure the most efficient processing of used packaging.
To select suitable packaging, you can use the advanced filter, which you will find at the top of the page after clicking on a specific packaging category. In the filter, you can conveniently choose the neck type, size, colour and packaging material, and thus display only those products that meet the requirements of your formulation and design. By combining several parameters, you can quickly narrow down the range to packaging options that are most appropriate for your project, whether jars, bottles, medicine bottles or other types of containers.
