This set of an amber 100 ml PET bottle and a mini trigger sprayer with a black head and a silver matte collar is a ready-made packaging solution for toners, hydrosols, face and hair sprays and refreshing waters. The tinted plastic limits the amount of light reaching the contents, so the bottle can also be filled with formulations containing more light-sensitive ingredients. The bottle is lightweight and unbreakable, which is useful for travel, in the bathroom and when sending finished products to customers. The sprayer has the same thread type as the bottle neck, so you can fit it straight on without searching for a suitable closure.

What the set is suitable for

• Face toners and hydrosols – the sprayer breaks thin water-based solutions into fine droplets that are applied directly to the face without a cotton pad.
• Hair sprays – leave-in conditioners, herbal infusions or protein waters sprayed onto the lengths of the hair.
• Refreshing and thermal waters – mineral or floral waters for a refresh during the day. The 100 ml size corresponds to a standard travel pack.
• Fabric sprays and room fragrances – water-alcohol solutions with a lower fragrance content. We recommend checking the compatibility of the material with your specific recipe.

How the sprayer works

The mini trigger sprayer draws the contents up through a dip tube from the bottom of the bottle. One press releases approximately 0.12 ml of liquid. The dose is small and covers a larger area of skin or hair well. The sprayer is intended for liquids with a viscosity close to water. Thick serums, oils and emulsions either clog the nozzle or come out as a stream instead of a mist. For such formulations, a different type of closure with the same neck is more suitable.

Nominal and total volume

The 100 ml figure is the nominal volume, that is, the amount the bottle is designed to hold when filled normally. The total brimful volume given in the parameters is the physical volume up to the neck. The difference between the two provides room for the dip tube and the body of the sprayer, which take up part of the space when screwed on. The bottle should therefore be filled up to the nominal volume, not to the brim, otherwise the contents will be forced out through the neck when the sprayer is fitted.

Good to know

• Preparation before first filling – wash the bottle and the sprayer, disinfect them and let them dry completely. Spray clean water through the sprayer several times to rinse the nozzle and the dip tube.
• Reuse – the PET bottle can be refilled several times if it is cleaned thoroughly between fillings. After emptying, rinse the sprayer and spray water through it so that residues of the formulation do not dry in the valve.
• Heat – fill the bottle with contents cooled to room temperature. Hot liquid deforms the plastic and changes the shape of the neck, and the sprayer then leaks.
• Recycling – the bottle is made of PET and belongs in plastic waste collection. The sprayer combines plastic with an aluminium collar, so unscrew it from the bottle before disposal.
• Other closures – other closures with the same thread type from the Handymade range also fit the bottle neck. If you make your own combination, we recommend checking the tightness and the behaviour of the packaging with your specific formulation.
