Product description

A brown plastic bottle with a black sprayer and a shiny silver collar is a ready-to-use set for spray cosmetic preparations with a volume of 100 ml. Brown PET filters light and helps protect contents sensitive to sunlight. The mechanical sprayer disperses the liquid into a fine mist without touching the contents with your hands. The set is particularly suitable for facial tonics, hydrolats and hair sprays, refreshing mists, room fragrances or hand sanitising solutions.

PET is lightweight and shatterproof, which you will appreciate for products that travel in a handbag, to the bathroom or to customers by post. The black sprayer with the shiny silver collar gives the packaging a cohesive look without additional decorations.

Why choose this set

  • Protection of contents from light – brown PET lets through less light than clear plastic, making it suitable for hydrolats, tonics with plant extracts or preparations with vitamins that lose quality more quickly in light.
  • Hygienic dispensing – the sprayer draws the liquid through a tube from inside the bottle and the contents do not come into contact with fingers, reducing the risk of microbial contamination during everyday use.
  • Fine mist, small doses – each press releases a small, even amount of the preparation. The customer applies exactly as much as they need, and the product lasts longer.
  • Durability during transport – the plastic bottle will not crack when dropped or during parcel delivery, making it suitable for products sold online.
  • Ready-matched combination – the bottle and sprayer share the same neck type 24/410, they fit together without testing and you do not need to worry about thread compatibility or sealing when choosing a separate closure.

What the set is suitable for

The mechanical sprayer works best with water-like liquids. It is therefore practical for:

  • facial tonics and hydrolats applied directly to the face or via a cotton pad,
  • hair sprays to aid detangling or refreshing hair mists,
  • body and room fragrances on a water-alcohol base,
  • hand or surface disinfection solutions,
  • setting sprays for make-up and thermal or mineral mists.

The sprayer is not suitable for thick serums, gels, creams or pure vegetable oils. Oil can be drawn up, but the nozzle will not disperse it into a mist — it will spray a stream instead — and with prolonged use the mechanism will clog. For such preparations, choose a different type of closure with the same 24/410 neck.

Nominal and total volume

This packaging has two distinct measurements. Nominal volume is the amount for which the bottle is intended for normal filling and which is stated on the label. Total brim-full volume is the physical volume up to the neck. The difference between them provides a reserve for the sprayer tube, for the air the mechanism needs for proper suction, and for slight expansion of the contents with temperature change. Therefore fill the bottle to the nominal volume, not to the brim. If overfilled, the contents may overflow when screwing on the sprayer and the closure may not seal properly.

Before the first batch filling, test one unit with the finished formulation. Check that the sprayer produces a consistent mist, that the scent or colour of the contents does not change after a few days, and that the closure seals when the bottle is placed on its side.

What is good to know before filling

Container preparation – rinse both the bottle and the sprayer before first use, disinfect with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol and allow to dry completely. Residual water inside would dilute the preparation and could encourage microbial growth. Flush the sprayer several times with clean water and allow to drip dry.

PET and preparation composition – PET tolerates aqueous solutions, hydrolats and common cosmetic bases well. At high concentrations of undiluted essential oils, strong solvents or acetone, the plastic may soften, become cloudy or change shape over time. In standard spray preparations where essential oils are only present in the fragrance portion and are solubilised in water or alcohol, this issue typically does not arise. However, we recommend verifying with the specific formulation.

Alcohol-based preparations – water-alcohol mists and disinfecting solutions are typical uses for the sprayer. With high-percentage alcohol, check whether the label starts to lift and whether the sprayer still seals over time.

Sprayer tube – check that the tube reaches the bottom of the bottle. If it is too long, it can be cleanly trimmed with a sharp knife so it does not buckle at the bottom and draws up the contents right to the end.

Apply the label to a clean, dry and degreased surface.

Reuse – the container can be used multiple times if thoroughly cleaned and disinfected after emptying. Rinse the sprayer with warm water with a small amount of alcohol and spray several times to remove residue from the previous preparation.

Suitability for cosmetics – both the bottle and the sprayer are declared as suitable for contact with cosmetic products. The set is intended for cosmetic and technical preparations; it is not approved for contact with food.

Recycling – the PET bottle belongs in sorted plastic waste. The sprayer combines plastic and an aluminium collar, so separate it from the bottle before disposal.

Do not expose the bottle to high temperatures. Filling with a hot preparation or leaving it on a sunny windowsill may deform the PET and reduce the seal of the thread.

Frequently asked questions

Does a brown plastic bottle protect the contents from light in the same way as brown glass?
Brown PET lets through less light than clear plastic and provides good protection for standard cosmetic sprays, but it does not guarantee complete darkness. It is a suitable choice for hydrolats, tonics with plant extracts and vitamin preparations. For particularly sensitive ingredients, we recommend storing the finished product away from direct sunlight regardless of the packaging colour.
What preparations can be filled into a plastic bottle with a 24/410 sprayer?
The sprayer is suitable for liquids with a water-like viscosity: hydrolats, facial tonics, hair sprays, water-alcohol mists, room fragrances and disinfecting solutions. Thick serums, gels and pure oils will not be dispersed into a mist and the mechanism could clog. For thick preparations, choose a different closure with the same neck type.
Why should the 100 ml plastic bottle not be filled right up to the neck?
The bottle is intended to be filled to the nominal volume, not to the brim. The headspace above this level is needed for the sprayer tube, for the air the mechanism requires for proper suction, and for the expansion of the contents with temperature change. If overfilled, the contents may overflow when screwing on the closure and the sprayer may not seal.
Is a PET plastic bottle suitable for preparations with essential oils?
PET tolerates essential oils at a standard fragrance level when solubilised in an aqueous or alcohol base. Undiluted essential oils or high concentrations may soften or cloud the plastic over time. For formulations with a higher proportion of essential oils, we recommend testing one bottle for several weeks and monitoring changes to both the packaging and the contents.
Can the plastic bottle with sprayer be used for food or beverages?
No, this set is not declared for contact with food. Both the bottle and the sprayer are intended for cosmetic and technical preparations, for which they have a declaration of suitability. For cooking oils, syrups or herbal infusions, choose packaging with food-contact suitability explicitly stated in the product specifications.
