Product description

Plastic bottle, brown, pump dispenser with cap, white-gold, 100 ml

A ready-made combination of a brown PET bottle with a 100 ml capacity and a plastic pump dispenser with a cap in a white-gold finish. It is designed for liquid and semi-liquid cosmetic preparations that are dispensed in small amounts – facial serums, light emulsions, body and face lotions, liquid soaps in smaller packaging, or oil serums. The brown colouring reduces light exposure to the contents, which is particularly appreciated in formulations with vegetable oils, vitamins, or essential oils that are sensitive to light. PET is lightweight and shatterproof, so the set is also suitable for the bathroom or travel.

Why choose this combination

  • Precise dosing – one press releases approximately 0.2 ml of the preparation, which corresponds to a typical single dose of serum or light cream. The user does not need to estimate the amount and the contents are used evenly.
  • Hygienic use – the contents do not come into contact with fingers or air to the same extent as with an open jar. This is an advantage with emulsions and water-based preparations where you want to reduce the risk of contamination during use.
  • Light protection – brown plastic limits light penetration, thereby slowing the oxidation of oil components and fading of natural colorants.
  • Cap on the dispenser – protects the opening from dust and prevents accidental pressing in a bag or drawer.
  • Lightweight and durable material – the PET bottle will not shatter if dropped and weighs a fraction of a glass alternative, which is practical for samples and travel-size packaging.

Which preparations is it suitable for

The dispenser works reliably with liquid to medium-viscosity preparations. It performs well with facial serums with a gel or water-based texture, light O/W emulsions, body and face lotions, liquid cleansing preparations, and oil serums. Thick creams or butters are drawn up with difficulty through the narrow tube and the dispenser may fail, so it is preferable to fill these into pots or jars.

With purely oil-based preparations, the dispenser works, but thin oils may drip slightly from the opening after pressing. With thick oils and serums of higher viscosity, we recommend verifying that the dispenser draws the contents smoothly before filling a larger batch.

Nominal and total volume

The bottle is designed to be filled to the nominal volume of 100 ml. The total volume to the brim is greater – this is the physical volume of the bottle up to the neck. The difference between the two values forms a reserve for the dip tube and the pump body, which push some of the contents upward when screwed in, as well as space for the contents to expand with temperature changes. It should therefore be filled to the nominal volume, not to the brim; otherwise the preparation will overflow when fitting the dispenser.

The dispenser tube is supplied longer than the height of the bottle. Before first use, trim it with an angled cut so that it ends just above the bottom of the bottle. The angled cut prevents the end of the tube from sealing against the bottom, which would cause the dispenser to stop drawing.

What is good to know

Before first filling, wash and disinfect both the bottle and the dispenser with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol and allow to dry completely. Residual water in the tube could dilute the first doses of the preparation or promote microbial growth in an unpreserved product.

PET is a stable material for both water-based and emulsion preparations. For formulations with a higher proportion of essential oils, limonene, or alcohol, we recommend verifying the behaviour of the packaging in the finished formulation – some ingredients may soften the plastic or cause cloudiness over time. Do not fill PET bottles with hot mixtures; allow the contents to cool to room temperature before filling.

Both the bottle and the dispenser have a 24/410 thread, meaning the same neck type as other closures and sprayers in the Handymade range. If you want to combine the bottle with a different closure, verify the seal and dispensing with the specific formulation.

The packaging is declared as suitable for contact with cosmetic products; the declaration of conformity can be found with the product. The set is not intended for food, so do not use it for household oils, syrups, or infusions intended for consumption.

The PET bottle belongs in sorted plastic waste after use. The dispenser is a combination of plastic and aluminium, so unscrew it from the bottle before recycling and dispose of it separately.

The pump dispenser with cap is not intended for preparations with abrasive particles (scrubs, powders). Solid particles will block the valve and dispensing will stop working.

Frequently asked questions

Is the brown PET bottle with dispenser suitable for facial serum?
Yes, the brown PET bottle with dispenser is suitable for facial serum. The brown plastic slows light-induced degradation of sensitive active ingredients and vitamins, and the dispenser delivers a precise dose without finger contact. It is suitable for both water-based and oil serums with a liquid to slightly gel-like texture; thick gels may be drawn up more slowly.
How much preparation does one press of the dispenser release?
One full press of the dispenser releases approximately 0.2 ml of preparation. This amount corresponds to a typical single dose of facial serum or light facial emulsion. For body lotions, the dispenser is usually pressed several times. The actual dose volume may vary slightly depending on the viscosity of the preparation and whether the tube is fully primed.
Why does the dispenser not pump after being fitted?
The most common cause is a tube that is too long or cut straight across, which has sealed against the bottom of the bottle. Trim the tube with an angled cut just above the bottom and press the dispenser several times until it primes. Another cause may be a preparation that is too thick or solid particles that have blocked the valve.
Can the bottle with dispenser be filled to the brim?
No, the bottle is filled to the nominal volume of 100 ml, not to the brim. The difference between the nominal and total volume is the reserve for the tube and the dispenser body, which push some of the contents upward when screwed in. If you overfill the bottle, the preparation will overflow when fitting the dispenser and may leave residue on the thread, which will later reduce the seal.
Can I fill PET bottles with preparations containing essential oils?
At typical concentrations of essential oils in a finished cosmetic preparation, a PET bottle is generally suitable; however, at higher proportions or with citrus oils, verify the packaging behaviour first. Some ingredients may cause wall softening, cloudiness, or a change in odour over time. Pure essential oils and concentrates are safer to fill into glass.
Can the dispenser be reused?
Yes, the dispenser can be cleaned and reused after the contents have been used up. Rinse it with warm water and liquid soap, pump clean water through it, and allow to dry completely. With preparations containing oils and waxes, residues may settle inside and impair valve function; in that case it is more reliable to replace the dispenser with a new one.
