Product description
Brown glass bottle 100 ml with pump dispenser is a ready-to-use set for facial serums, treatment oils and light emulsions that are dispensed in small amounts and require protection from light. The pump dispenser with cap in a white-gold finish delivers the same small dose with each press and the contents do not come into contact with hands. It is also suitable for body lotions of a thinner consistency and other liquid products.
The cap protects the pump head from dust and accidental pressing, so the bottle can be safely packed into a cosmetic bag or transported. The set is intended for cosmetic products; both components are declared as suitable for contact with cosmetics. The glass bottle alone holds a food-contact certificate; the set as a whole is not intended for food use, as the pump dispenser does not have this suitability.
Why choose this set
- Light protection – brown glass limits light penetration, which slows down the degradation of oils, vitamins, plant extracts and other substances that lose efficacy or change colour in light.
- Hygienic dispensing – the contents are dispensed only through the pump and the bottle is never touched by fingers as with a cream jar. A particular advantage for leave-on products.
- Measured dose – one press releases a small, always consistent amount, so serums and oils are dispensed economically and without spilling.
- Cap for travel – the pump head is covered, so the dispenser will not press itself or get dirty in a bag.
- Glass with no own scent – glass does not absorb fragrances or colorants and does not affect the contents, which is appreciated with products containing essential oils or fragrance compositions.
What products it is suitable for
The 100 ml volume and the small dose per press determine which products the set is practical for. It works best with liquid to slightly viscous contents: facial serums with hyaluronic acid, dry and treatment oils, oil serums, liquid emulsions of the O/W type, light facial milks, oil-based makeup removers or liquid toner applied on a cotton pad.
The set is not suitable for thick creams, butters and balms; the dispenser cannot draw up such consistency or dispenses it unevenly. For thicker emulsions, we recommend testing the dispensing with the actual formulation in advance, as the viscosity of an emulsion continues to change as it cools and matures.
Nominal and total volume
Nominal volume is the volume the bottle is designed for under normal filling. Total volume to the brim is the physical volume up to the neck and is slightly larger. The difference between them is a reserve into which the dip tube and the lower part of the pump dispenser are inserted when screwed on, and which also gives the contents room to expand with temperature changes. The bottle should be filled to the nominal volume, not to the brim; otherwise the contents will overflow through the neck when the pump is attached.
What is useful to know when filling
Before first filling, wash the bottle, rinse it with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol and allow to dry completely. It is sufficient to rinse the dispenser with clean water or ethanol and allow to drip dry. Residual water in the dip tube would dilute the first doses and could cause cloudiness in anhydrous products.
The dispenser dip tube is supplied longer than the height of the bottle. Before attaching, cut it with a sharp knife or scissors so that its end reaches just above the bottom, and make the cut at an angle. The tube will then not sit flush on the bottom and the dispenser will draw out the contents almost completely.
After filling, screw the dispenser on and press several times until the tube fills and the first dose comes out. With oils that have a higher proportion of essential oils or with products with a high alcohol content, we recommend testing the set first. The internal parts of the dispenser are made of plastic and some solvents may affect them over time.
Do not fill the glass bottle with hot contents. Allow emulsions and oils to cool to room temperature before filling; a sudden temperature difference may damage the glass, and warm contents will additionally change in volume as they cool.
The bottle can be reused; once empty, simply wash it, disinfect and allow to dry. Before reuse, pump the dispenser several times with clean water and then with ethanol to ensure no residue of the previous product remains in the tube. For recycling, glass goes with glass; the dispenser is a combination of plastic and aluminium, so separate it from the bottle.
The dispenser can be replaced with another closure with the same neck type, which is listed in the parameters. Further ready-made combinations of bottle and closure are available in the Handymade range; for a custom combination, we recommend verifying the seal, dispensing and packaging behaviour with the specific formulation.
