Product description
A glass dropper bottle, 100 ml, is a ready-to-fill complete set for face oils, serums and alcohol tinctures that are dispensed drop by drop. Blue glass reduces light transmission, helping to protect contents sensitive to oxidation and UV radiation, such as vegetable oils with a higher proportion of unsaturated fatty acids or oil-based serums with vitamins. The set consists of a blue glass vial, a clear dropper insert placed in the neck, and a black cap that seals the bottle.
The 100 ml volume is practical wherever precise dosing and light protection matter. Thanks to the dropper, the contents do not spill and the bottle does not need to be opened wide during use, which limits contact of the contents with air.
How the set works
- Blue glass vial – glass is chemically resistant, does not react with oils, essential oils or alcohol, and the blue tint reduces the effect of light on the contents.
- Dropper in the neck – a plastic insert with a narrow opening that releases the contents drop by drop when the bottle is tilted. Suitable for liquid oils, serums and tinctures; not for thick emulsions or gels.
- Black cap – a screw closure that fits over the neck above the dropper and seals the bottle tightly.
Nominal and total volume
The nominal volume is the volume the bottle is designed for during regular filling. The total brim volume is the physical volume up to the neck. The difference between them is the headspace taken up by the dropper inserted into the neck, and which allows room for the contents to expand with temperature changes. The bottle should therefore be filled to the nominal volume, not to the brim. When filled all the way to the neck, inserting the dropper would push the contents out and the cap would not seal cleanly.
Insert the dropper into the neck only after filling the bottle. With even pressure it clicks into the neck and holds on its own; the cap then simply covers and secures it.
Suitable contents include
- Face oil serums – blends of vegetable oils with oil-soluble active ingredients, where a few drops are applied per use.
- Hair and beard oils – the dropper makes it easy to apply a small amount directly to the tips or scalp.
- Essential oil blends – diluted in a carrier oil for massage or aromatherapy.
- Alcohol tinctures for cosmetic use – glass does not react with alcohol and the blue tint protects botanical components from light.
- Water-based serums and tonics with lower viscosity, applied drop by drop.
Thick creams, balms and viscous gels are not suitable for this set. The dropper will not let them through and the contents would have to be shaken out.
Good to know
The set is declared as suitable for contact with cosmetic products; the declaration of conformity and technical data are provided with the product. The set is intended for cosmetics and is not approved for food or food supplements.
Before the first fill, we recommend washing the bottle, dropper and cap, disinfecting them with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol, and allowing them to dry completely. Residual water in an oil-based product promotes microbial growth and shortens its shelf life.
Pouring hot contents into a cold glass bottle may cause it to crack. Allow the contents to cool to at least lukewarm temperature. The dropper and cap are made of plastic and should not be filled with hot contents.
With concentrated essential oils and tinctures with a high alcohol content, we recommend testing the dropper's behaviour during prolonged contact with the contents before a larger production run. Diluted blends in a carrier oil are standard use for the plastic dropper.
The bottle is suitable for repeated use. Oil residues in the dropper turn yellow over time and may clog the opening, so it is advisable to replace the dropper with a new one when refilling.
Standard self-adhesive labels adhere well to the cylindrical wall of the vial. We recommend choosing oil-resistant printing so it does not smear during use.
Closures with the same neck type and other ready-made packaging + closure combinations are available in the Handymade range. With a custom combination, we recommend verifying the seal, dosing and packaging behaviour with the specific formulation.
The dropper is not a seal. Always close the bottle with the cap before transport, and when shipping to customers, pack it so it lies stable and the cap is not exposed to sideways pressure.
Glass goes into glass recycling, the dropper and cap into plastics. Before recycling, separate the bottle from the plastic parts.
