The pump can, with appropriate handling, be used repeatedly as long as there is no mechanical damage or significant wear of the spring or dosing mechanism. However, before each new filling it is necessary to thoroughly clean and disinfect the packaging including the pump, in order to minimize the risk of microbial contamination. For disinfection we recommend using suitable alcohol-based preparations, for example IPA 99 % isopropyl alcohol or ethanol 96 % denatured plant-based. When disinfecting, make sure that all parts of the pump are thoroughly dried after the application of the disinfectant before refilling.

The pump is most suitable for liquid and medium-viscosity cosmetic formulations, such as liquid soaps, shower gels, body lotions, light creams, shampoos or conditioners. It also works well with disinfectant solutions or hygiene gels that do not contain an excessively high proportion of undissolved particles. For very thick creams or paste-like products we always recommend performing a trial filling and verifying whether the mechanism doses the product sufficiently smoothly and without clogging.

To maintain a long service life, it is important not to overload the pump and not to subject it to mechanical stress beyond normal use. Avoid strong forceful pressing, prying or twisting that is not part of normal opening and closing. When changing the product, it is advisable to thoroughly rinse the pump with a suitable cleaning agent, let it dry and then disinfect it. It is not recommended to expose it to extreme temperatures or aggressive solvents that could negatively affect the seals or plastic parts of the mechanism.

If you decide not to use the packaging further, we recommend recycling it according to the material type given in the product parameters for the specific bottle and pump. Before handing it over for recycling, remove as much of the remaining product as possible by rinsing with an appropriate amount of water or a suitable cleaning solution. In the case of a combination of different materials (for example a plastic bottle and a multi-part pump), it is ideal to separate the individual parts from each other as far as possible. Then dispose of them in the collection container intended for the relevant type of plastic according to local waste collection rules.
