However, we always recommend performing your own test: check whether the thread seats smoothly, whether the pump dispenses correctly and whether, during repeated use, there is any leakage of the contents around the thread or tube.

The pump can be reused as long as it does not show signs of mechanical wear and maintains reliable sealing and smooth operation. For repeated use it is essential to follow hygiene principles: before refilling the bottle, all parts of the packaging must be thoroughly cleaned and disinfected, for example using isopropyl alcohol or ethanol. In our range you will find suitable products for disinfection such as IPA 99% isopropyl alcohol and Ethanol 96% denatured plant-based. Only after complete drying is the pump ready for further use.

For even dispensing it is important that the consistency of the product corresponds to the pump type – formulations that are too thick can increase resistance when pressing and promote clogging. Before first use, press the mechanism several times so that the tube is completely filled with product. For formulations with solid particles (for example exfoliating grains), it is advisable to minimise these particles or use another type of dispensing. If the outlet orifice becomes clogged, gentle rinsing with a suitable solvent compatible with your formulation is recommended.

If you decide not to use the packaging further, we recommend primarily recycling it according to the material type specified in the product parameters for the particular bottle and pump. The glass dropper bottle can usually be handed over to separated glass collection after it has been thoroughly emptied and rinsed. The plastic pump should be separated from the glass and placed in the corresponding sorted waste stream according to the specified plastic type. In the case of residues of cosmetic products, it is important to use up the contents as far as possible and minimise residues so that the recycling process proceeds efficiently and in accordance with local waste sorting rules.
