Product description

Chia CO₂-to extract BIO is a pure plant oil extract obtained from the seeds of Salvia hispanica using supercritical carbon dioxide extraction. This process is carried out without the use of solvents and preserves all nutrients in their natural form. The extract is stabilized with a small amount of organic rosemary antioxidant (BIO), which increases its shelf life and protects the fatty acids from oxidation. It has a yellowish to orange colour, a light texture and a delicate, naturally nutty aroma. It is a CO₂-to (total extract) – a complete extract that contains the full spectrum of lipid components, including polyunsaturated fatty acids, waxes and natural antioxidants.

Type of extraction: Supercritical carbon dioxide extraction (CO₂)
Designation: CO₂-to – total extract (complete extract with all lipid components)
D/E ratio: 3.1–3.6 kg chia seeds per 1 kg extract

Composition: 99.9% Chia CO2-to BIO extract, 0.1% Rosemary BIO CO2 extract

FAQ

What are the main active substances in chia CO₂ extract?

Chia extract contains a high amount of essential fatty acids – especially α-linolenic acid (omega-3) and linoleic acid (omega-6). In addition, it contains natural antioxidants and phospholipids that support skin health.

Is chia oil suitable for oily or acne-prone skin?

Yes, thanks to its light texture and high content of omega-3 fatty acids, it helps reduce inflammation and soothes irritated skin without leaving a greasy film.

What does the designation “CO₂-to” mean?

The abbreviation CO₂-to stands for total extract – a complete CO₂ extract that contains the full spectrum of plant substances, including lipids, waxes and antioxidants. It is more stable and more nourishing than “selective” (CO₂-se) extracts.

Does chia CO₂ extract contain an antioxidant?

Yes, the extract is naturally stabilized with an organic rosemary antioxidant (BIO), which protects the fatty acids from oxidation and extends the product’s shelf life.
