Product description

A 15 ml glass dropper bottle designed for precise dispensing of liquid preparations drop by drop. It is particularly suitable for facial and oil serums, essential oil blends, concentrated active ingredients, tinctures and samples. It is supplied as a complete set: a frosted glass bottle and a dropper in a white-gold finish, which fit together precisely. The frosted glass softens the view of the contents while remaining translucent, so the fill level is visible without opening. Both the bottle and the dropper are declared suitable for contact with cosmetic products.

How the set dispenses

The dropper consists of a glass tube that is chemically neutral towards the contents, a silicone bulb for suction and a threaded ring that seals the bottle when tightened. The length of the tube is adapted to the height of the bottle, reaching almost to the bottom, so the contents can be drawn up without tilting. Drop-by-drop dispensing is beneficial with concentrated preparations, where the customer applies a small amount and knows exactly how much they have used.

Key benefits

  • Precise dispensing – the dropper measures out individual drops, which is practical for serums, oils and essential oil blends.
  • Frosted glass – the matte surface scatters light and visually softens the appearance of the packaging, while the fill level remains visible.
  • Glass as a material – does not react with oils, alcohol-based extracts or essential oils, does not absorb fragrance and withstands repeated washing.
  • Small volume – 15 ml corresponds to the standard size of a facial serum or sample; the contents are used up before they lose quality.
  • White-gold finish – the dropper complements light and gold labels and suits gift and cosmetic lines.

Suitable for products such as

The set is suitable for facial serums on both water and oil bases, facial oils, essential oil blends for aromatherapy, cuticle oil, beard oil, tinctures and drop-dispensed concentrates. It is also suitable for samples and testers, where the customer needs small packaging and simple dispensing. The dropper will not draw up thick creams, gels or serums with a higher thickener content; for those, a pump bottle or a jar is more appropriate.

Filling and volume

The bottle comes in two volumes: nominal and total to the rim. The nominal volume is the amount the packaging is designed for during standard filling. The total volume is the physical volume up to the neck. The difference between them provides a reserve for the dropper tube, which displaces part of the volume when inserted, and for the expansion of the contents with temperature change. Both values can be found in the specifications.

Fill to the nominal volume, not to the rim. Once the dropper tube is inserted, the level rises, and overfilling causes the contents to leak through the thread when closing.

Preparation, cleaning and reuse

Before first filling, wash and rinse both the bottle and the dropper, then disinfect with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol and allow to dry completely. Residual water in an undried bottle can spoil an anhydrous oil preparation, and in water-based preparations it puts additional strain on the preservative system. Glass withstands repeated washing; the dropper is cleaned by drawing up and expelling a cleaning solution. With serums containing an aqueous phase, replace or thoroughly disinfect the dropper between fillings, as it comes into contact with the skin during application.

The set is not approved for contact with food. Use it for cosmetic preparations only, not for household oils, syrups or extracts intended for consumption.

What is good to know

  • Dropper and tilting – press the bulb with the bottle in an upright position so that the contents do not enter the bulb. Silicone is durable, but contents that get into the bulb are difficult to clean out.
  • Glass and heat – glass does not tolerate sudden temperature shocks, so do not pour a hot mixture into the bottle and do not rinse a cold bottle with boiling water.
  • Labelling – the matte surface reduces reflections and labels adhere well to it. Dimensions suitable for a label can be found in the packaging specifications.
  • Light protection – frosted glass scatters light but does not replace amber or blue glass. Preparations sensitive to light, such as those containing vitamin C or retinol, should be stored away from direct light.
  • Other closures – the bottle has a neck with the thread type listed in the specifications. Closures with the same thread type and ready-made combinations are available in the Handymade range; for your own combination, verify the seal with your specific formulation.
  • Recycling – the bottle goes in the glass bin. The dropper is made of multiple materials, so separate it from the bottle before disposal.

Frequently asked questions

Does the frosted glass of the 15 ml dropper bottle protect the contents from light?
Only partially. The matte surface scatters incoming light but does not filter it as effectively as amber or blue glass. The bottle is suitable for common oils and serums. For preparations with light-sensitive ingredients, choose dark glass or store the packaging in a box away from direct sunlight.
Is the 15 ml glass dropper bottle suitable for essential oils?
Yes. Both the bottle glass and the glass tube of the dropper are neutral towards essential oils, do not absorb fragrance and do not release any substances from the material into the contents. Pure essential oils should not be in prolonged contact with the silicone bulb, so press the bulb with the bottle in an upright position and do not draw up more than fits in the tube.
How much liquid does the 15 ml glass dropper bottle actually hold?
The bottle is designed to be filled to the nominal volume of 15 ml. Physically, it has a slightly larger volume up to the rim, but this difference is a reserve for the inserted dropper tube and for the expansion of the contents. If you fill it to the neck, the contents will leak through the thread when closing. Exact values for both volumes are in the specifications.
Can the 15 ml glass dropper bottle be reused?
Yes. The bottle can be washed and disinfected repeatedly with ethanol or isopropyl alcohol. The dropper simply needs to be rinsed by drawing up a cleaning solution and letting it dry. For preparations with an aqueous phase that are applied directly to the skin, it is better for hygiene reasons to replace the dropper when refilling.
Can I fill the 15 ml glass dropper bottle with food or household oils for consumption?
No. The dropper bottle set is not declared for contact with food, so it is intended for cosmetic preparations, aromatherapy and similar uses. For household oils, syrups or extracts intended for consumption, choose packaging that has a food-contact certification listed in its specifications.
