Product description

The 10 ml glass dropper bottle is intended for contents that are dispensed drop by drop: face serums, facial and hair oils, essential oil blends, tinctures or concentrated active ingredients. Amber glass filters light, so it is mainly used for ingredients sensitive to light and oxidation. The small volume also suits samples, trial batches of a new recipe, or a travel pack of the serum you use every day.

The set includes a pharmaceutical bottle and a white and gold dropper with the same 18/410 neck finish. The two parts together form ready-to-use packaging that you only need to fill and screw on. The dropper reaches deep into the bottle, so the contents can be used up almost completely.

How the set works

Squeeze the bulb, immerse the glass tube in the contents and release the bulb to draw up the liquid. Squeezing again dispenses a few drops of serum into your palm or several drops of essential oil into a blend, without pouring and without your fingers touching the contents.

The filling comes into contact with the glass of the bottle and the glass tube of the dropper. The bulb is made of silicone, and the outer cover is made of plastic and aluminium. Store the bottle upright so that the contents do not remain in the bulb for a long time.

Nominal and total volume

The nominal volume is the amount the packaging is designed for under normal filling. The total brimful volume is the physical volume up to the neck and can be found in the parameters. The difference between them is a reserve for the dropper tube, which pushes part of the liquid upwards once screwed on, and for the expansion of the contents with changes in temperature.

Fill to the nominal 10 ml, not to the brim. An overfilled bottle overflows when the dropper is fitted, and the contents get into the thread, where they turn sticky and make the bottle hard to open.

Good to know

Preparation before first filling – wash the bottle, disinfect it with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol and leave it to dry completely. Rinse the dropper with ethanol so that no water remains in the tube.
Reuse – after thorough washing, the glass can be filled repeatedly. Replace the dropper when the bulb hardens, changes shape or stops drawing up liquid properly.
Glass and heat – let hot oil blends or melted butters cool to at least lukewarm before filling. A sudden temperature difference can damage the glass.
Essential oils and alcohol – the glass withstands them, so the bottle is also suitable for concentrated blends and tinctures. We recommend checking how the bulb behaves during longer contact with a specific blend.
Contact with food – only the glass bottle on its own has a certificate for direct contact with food. The set with the dropper is intended for cosmetics as a whole.
Other closure – the bottle has an 18/410 neck finish; closures with the same neck type and ready-made combinations can be found in the Handymade range. With your own combination, check the tightness and how the packaging behaves with your specific formulation.
Recycling – the empty bottle belongs in glass recycling. The dropper is made of several materials, so separate it from the bottle before disposal.

Amber glass filters light, but it does not protect the contents from heat. Store oils and serums with sensitive active ingredients away from the sun and heat sources, even in amber glass.

Does the 10 ml amber glass bottle protect the contents from light?

Yes, amber glass reduces the passage of light and slows the changes that light causes in sensitive ingredients. This is why it is used for facial oils, serums with vitamins and essential oil blends. Protection from light does not replace correct storage; the contents should still be kept away from direct sun and heat.

How much fits into the 10 ml glass dropper bottle?
