Product description

A green glass bottle with a white-gold dropper is a ready-made set for dispensing serums and oils drop by drop. Green glass reduces light exposure to the contents, making it particularly suitable for facial serums, oil blends and concentrates that lose stability in light. The small volume is practical for samples, test batches and preparations used a few drops at a time.

The dropper consists of a glass tube, a silicone bulb and a white-gold cap that screws directly onto the bottle neck. The set is declared as suitable for contact with cosmetic products. The declaration of conformity and parameters of both components can be found on the product page.

What the set offers

  • Light protection – green glass limits light penetration and slows the degradation of sensitive ingredients such as vitamins, oxidation-prone vegetable oils and essential oils. The protection is not complete as with an opaque container, but it is noticeably better compared to clear glass.
  • Precise dosing – the dropper dispenses the contents drop by drop, which matters for concentrated serums and formulations with a high proportion of active ingredients where only a few drops are needed per application.
  • Glass as an inert material – both the bottle and the dropper tube do not react with oils, essential oils or alcohol-based solutions. The set can handle contents that might cause plastic to soften or absorb odour.
  • Reusability – after thorough cleaning and disinfection, both the bottle and the dropper can be used again, which is useful for small-batch home production.

Nominal and total volume

Nominal volume is the volume the bottle is designed for with standard filling. Total volume to the brim is the physical volume up to the neck and is larger. The difference provides a reserve for the dropper tube, which displaces some of the contents when screwed in, and for the expansion of contents with temperature changes. The bottle should therefore be filled to the nominal volume, not to the brim. Exact values for both volumes are given in the product parameters.

If filled to the brim, the contents will overflow through the neck when the dropper is attached, contaminating the thread and reducing the seal quality. Leave free space in the neck according to the nominal volume.

Suitable for products such as

  • Facial serums, both water-based and oil-based – the small volume and drop-by-drop dosing match the way serums are used.
  • Oil concentrates and vegetable oil blends – glass protects oxidation-sensitive oils and does not react with them.
  • Essential oil blends and fragrance concentrates – the glass dropper tube can handle concentrated essential oils that could damage plastic.
  • Alcohol tinctures and extracts for external use – glass is stable against alcohol and the dropper lets you measure a precise amount into a recipe.
  • Samples and test batches – during recipe development, a small bottle is useful for stability testing or for customer samples.

What to know before filling

Before first use, wash and disinfect both the bottle and dropper with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol and allow to dry completely. Residual water in the dropper tube would enter the anhydrous contents and could cause cloudiness or spoilage of the oil preparation.

The silicone dropper bulb is resistant to vegetable and essential oils. However, with prolonged contact with highly concentrated essential oils or solvents, it may soften over time. For such contents, we recommend testing the dropper's behaviour with the specific formulation over several weeks.

Thick oils, gels or serums with a higher proportion of thickener are drawn into the tube slowly and the drop forms with difficulty. The dropper works best with liquid and medium-viscosity contents.

Glass is sensitive to impact and sudden temperature changes. Pour the contents into the bottle only after they have cooled down; do not pour a hot oil phase directly from the heating vessel into a small glass bottle.

A label can be applied around the full circumference of the bottle. Caps with the same neck type and other ready-made bottle-and-cap combinations are available in the Handymade range. With a custom combination, we recommend verifying the seal and dispensing performance with the specific formulation.

If you are filling a water-based preparation, keep in mind that the air drawn in by the dropper with each use comes into contact with the contents. A water-based preparation therefore requires a preservation system even in this small container.

Frequently asked questions

Does the green glass bottle protect the contents from light?
Yes, green glass limits light penetration and slows the degradation of sensitive ingredients such as vitamins or oxidation-prone oils. The protection is not complete as with an opaque container, so store the bottle with light-sensitive contents away from direct sunlight. For standard serums, oils and tinctures, the protection offered by green glass is sufficient in practice.
How many ml can be filled into the dropper bottle?
The bottle is filled to the nominal volume of 15 ml, not to the brim. The space above the nominal volume is a reserve for the dropper tube and for the expansion of the preparation with temperature changes. If filled to the brim, the contents would overflow through the thread when the dropper is screwed on, reducing the seal quality.
Is the glass bottle with dropper suitable for essential oils?
Yes, both the glass bottle and the glass dropper tube are stable against essential oils and do not react with them. The only part in contact with the contents made from a different material is the silicone bulb, which may soften over time with very concentrated blends. For such contents, we recommend testing the bulb's behaviour over several weeks.
Can the bottle with dropper be reused?
Yes, after thorough washing and disinfection with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol, both the bottle and dropper can be reused. Both parts must be completely dry before refilling, especially the glass dropper tube where water remains longest. If the dropper bulb has softened or changed colour, replace it with a new one.
Is the dropper set suitable for food?
No, this set is not approved for contact with food. It is not intended for edible oils, syrups or herbal infusions for consumption. The set is declared as suitable for contact with cosmetic products, meaning serums, cosmetic oils, tinctures for external use and similar preparations.
Why is it difficult to dispense a thicker serum with the dropper?
The dropper draws the contents by the vacuum of the silicone bulb, and with higher viscosity the contents enter the glass tube slowly, making the drop difficult to form. The set is designed for liquid to medium-viscosity preparations. For thick serums and gels, a pump bottle or jar is more suitable.
