Product description
A glass bottle with dropper at 50 ml is a complete packaging and closure set designed for precise drop-by-drop dispensing. It is particularly suited for facial oils, oil-based and light aqueous serums, tinctures, alcoholic extracts, and hair and nail care blends where the contents are applied in small amounts. The dropper is supplied together with the bottle as a matched pair, so there is no need to search for and test a separate closure.
The bottle is made of glass, which does not react with oils or alcohol and does not absorb fragrances. Clear glass shows the colour of the contents and how much product remains, but does not protect the contents from light. The dropper consists of a white glossy threaded ring, a glass tube, and a silicone bulb that draws up and dispenses the contents.
What the set is suitable for
- Facial and body oils – the dropper allows a few drops to be applied directly to the palm or skin without spilling and without finger contact with the contents of the bottle.
- Oil serums with active ingredients – blends with vitamin E, coenzyme Q10, or oil extracts, where small daily doses are used.
- Light aqueous and gel serums – the dropper handles thinner aqueous preparations as well; with thicker gels, uptake slows down.
- Tinctures and alcoholic extracts – glass does not react with alcohol and drop-by-drop dosing is standard for extracts.
- Essential oil blends in a carrier oil – for example massage blends or oil blends for the nail cuticle.
The set is not suitable for thick creams, butters, or preparations containing particles, as the dropper would not draw them up.
Nominal and total volume
The nominal volume is the volume the bottle is designed to hold under normal filling. The total volume to the brim is the physical capacity up to the neck and is slightly larger. The difference provides a reserve for the dropper, whose glass tube takes up space inside once screwed in, and also allows for expansion of the contents with temperature changes. The bottle should therefore be filled to the nominal volume, not to the brim. If overfilled, the contents would be pushed out through the thread when the dropper is fitted.
Before first use, wash both the bottle and the dropper, disinfect with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol and allow to dry completely. Residual water in an oil serum shortens its stability and may cloud the contents.
Good to know
The set as a whole is intended for cosmetic preparations; both parts are declared suitable for contact with cosmetics. The glass bottle on its own holds a food-contact certificate; the dropper does not. The set is therefore not intended for food use.
Clear glass does not provide protection from light. Products sensitive to light, such as oils with a high proportion of unsaturated fatty acids, serums with vitamin C or retinol, should be stored in the dark or packed in dark glass. For common carrier oils and tinctures consumed within a few weeks, clear glass is usually sufficient and the customer can see the contents.
The silicone bulb of the dropper is resistant to common cosmetic oils and diluted blends. With concentrated essential oils or preparations with a high proportion of solvents, we recommend monitoring the bulb's behaviour over time, as certain ingredients may soften silicone. Drawn-up contents should not be left standing in the dropper; after dispensing, return the remainder to the bottle.
Glass tolerates sudden temperature changes poorly. Do not pour a hot oil phase into a cold bottle, and do not wash it alternately with hot and cold water.
The bottle can be reused after thorough washing and disinfection. The dropper is cleaned disassembled into the ring, tube, and bulb, then reassembled once dry. When reusing, check that the bulb seals properly and the tube is not cracked. Glass belongs in glass recycling, the dropper in plastic waste, and it is advisable to separate the glass tube before disposal.
