Product description

A transparent glass bottle with a white cream pump dispenser is a ready-made packaging and closure set for products dispensed by pressing without opening the container. The pump screws onto the neck of the bottle with a nominal volume of 50 ml and the set is ready for creams, facial emulsions, serums and light body lotions. The contents are not fully exposed with each use, fingers do not reach inside the bottle, and dispensing is consistent.

Clear glass reveals the color and texture of the contents, which is an advantage for products that have an attractive appearance in themselves, such as tinted emulsions or serums. Glass is also chemically stable, does not react with common cosmetic ingredients and does not absorb odors. The white pump complements the clean look of the bottle and suits both neutral and colored labels.

How the set works

The pump has a dip tube reaching to the bottom, so it draws the contents from the lower part of the bottle and almost all of it is used up. One press releases a small, measured amount. The quantity of product is controlled by the number of presses, so the same container works for facial serum, where small doses are used, as well as for body lotion, where more is applied.

On first use, the pump is primed by pressing repeatedly until the tube fills and the product starts to come out. The exact dose size is listed in the specifications.

Which products is the set suitable for

  • Facial creams and emulsions – medium-viscosity O/W and W/O formulations pass through the pump smoothly and are dispensed in small amounts.
  • Serums and gel products – water-based serums with hyaluronic acid or gels with lower viscosity dispense cleanly, without running down the inside of the bottle.
  • Light body lotions – given the volume, more suited for travel or as a sample, or for products intended for the décolleté and neck area.
  • Liquid foundations and tinted creams – transparent glass allows the shade to be seen and the pump releases exactly the right amount.

The set is not suitable for very thick balms, butters and solid creams. The pump cannot draw them in or will clog. Such products belong in a jar.

Nominal and total volume

Nominal volume is the volume for which the bottle is intended for standard filling and which is stated on the label. Total volume to the brim is the physical volume of the bottle up to the neck. The difference between them is the allowance for the pump dip tube, which takes up some space once screwed in, and for expansion of the contents with temperature changes. The bottle should therefore be filled to the nominal volume, not to the brim. If overfilled, the contents will be pushed out through the neck once the pump is screwed on. The exact values of both volumes are listed in the specifications.

Good to know

Before filling for the first time, wash the bottle, disinfect it with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol and leave it to dry completely. Rinse the pump with clean water with a small amount of ethanol, press it empty several times and leave it to dry head down.

Clear glass does not protect the contents from light. For formulations with light-sensitive active ingredients, such as vitamin C, retinol or unsaturated vegetable oils, amber or blue glass is more suitable. Clear bottles are appropriate for products that are stable in light, or for products stored away from direct light.

Glass does not tolerate sudden temperature changes. Do not pour hot emulsion into a cold bottle or vice versa. Allow the product to cool to at least body temperature before filling.

The pump is made of polypropylene, which is resistant to common cosmetic ingredients. For formulations with a high proportion of essential oils or solvents, we recommend verifying in advance that the pump material does not change shape or function after several weeks.

The set is declared as suitable for contact with cosmetic products. The glass bottle itself additionally has certification for direct contact with food, but the pump does not. The set as a whole is therefore intended for cosmetics.

The bottle can be reused. Rinse the pump immediately after emptying, as dried cream in the tube is difficult to remove. When disposing, glass goes with glass and the pump goes with plastic, so disassemble the set before throwing it away.

Closures with the same neck type as listed in the specifications, and further ready-made combinations, can be found in the Handymade range. For a custom combination, we recommend verifying the seal, dispensing and container behavior with the specific formulation.

Frequently asked questions

Does the transparent glass bottle with pump protect the contents from light?
No, clear glass transmits light and does not protect the contents from it. The bottle is suitable for products that are stable in light, or that are stored in the dark, for example in a cabinet or a cosmetic bag. For formulations with vitamin C, retinol or sensitive oils, amber or blue glass is a better choice.
How much cream fits in the 50 ml glass bottle with pump?
The bottle is filled with 50 ml, which is its nominal volume. The physical volume of the bottle to the brim is larger; the allowance is needed for the pump dip tube and expansion of the contents. If filled to the brim, once the pump is screwed on, some of the contents will be pushed out and will soil the outside of the container.
How thick can products be to pass through the cream pump?
Liquid to medium-viscosity products pass through the pump, including serums, emulsions, facial creams and body lotions. The pump cannot draw in very thick balms, butters and solid creams, or it will clog. If unsure, test dispensing with a small amount before filling the entire batch.
Can the glass bottle with pump be washed and reused?
Yes, both the glass bottle and the pump can be washed and reused. Wash the bottle with warm water and dish soap, disinfect with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol and leave to dry. Rinse the pump immediately after emptying and press it empty several times to clean the tube. Dried cream is difficult to remove from the tube.
Is the glass bottle and pump set suitable for food?
The set as a whole is not intended for food. The glass bottle on its own has certification for direct contact with food, but the plastic cream pump does not. The set is declared as suitable for contact with cosmetic products and is intended for that use.
Is the glass bottle with pump suitable for water-based serums?
Yes, water-based serums and gel products with lower viscosity are suitable for this set. The pump dispenses them in small doses without running down the inside of the bottle, and glass does not react with water-based ingredients. For very thin, near-watery products, we recommend testing dispensing on a small amount first.
