How to work with the bottle and dropper

The bottle is filled to the nominal volume, not to the brim. The nominal volume is the amount for which the packaging is designed under normal filling conditions. The total capacity to the brim is the physical volume up to the neck and is larger. The difference between them provides clearance for the glass tube of the dropper, which displaces some volume when screwed in, and for the expansion of the contents with changes in temperature.

Before fitting the dropper, it is advisable to wipe the bottle neck dry so the thread seals properly and oil does not accumulate on it. To dispense, squeeze the bulb, submerge the tube in the product, release the bulb, and then release drops by gently squeezing. Thicker serums and viscous oils drip more slowly; for very thick products it is recommended to check whether the dropper draws a sufficient amount.

Good to know

Light. Clear glass does not protect the contents from light. Oils prone to oxidation, serums containing vitamin C, or preparations with essential oils should be packaged in a box, stored in the dark, or packaged in a dark bottle from the range. For light-stable contents and products consumed quickly, clear glass is sufficient.

Food and cosmetics. The glass bottle alone holds a certificate for direct contact with food. The dropper does not, so the set as a whole is intended for cosmetic use. Do not use this set for food applications, such as aromatic oils for the kitchen.

Preparation before first filling. Before use, it is advisable to wash both the bottle and the dropper, disinfect them with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol, and allow them to dry completely. Residual water in the glass tube or in the thread could enter an anhydrous product and reduce its stability.

Dropper material. The tube is glass; the bulb and cap are made of plastic and silicone. For concentrated essential oils and solvents, we recommend checking how the bulb withstands prolonged contact with the formulation, particularly if the product sits in the bottle for an extended period.

Labelling. The bottle labels well. A transparent label also works on clear glass, allowing the colour of the contents to show through.

Reuse and recycling. The glass bottle can be reused after washing and, when no longer needed, belongs in glass recycling. The dropper consists of multiple materials; before recycling, it is advisable to separate the glass tube from the plastic and silicone parts.
