Product description

A glass dropper bottle with a volume of 50 ml is a ready-to-use set for dispensing liquid cosmetic preparations drop by drop. The clear glass reveals the colour and clarity of the contents, which you will appreciate with facial serums, oil blends and tinctures, where the contents should be visible. The matte black dropper with a glossy stripe gives the packaging a simple, understated look that lets the label stand out.

The set as a whole is intended for cosmetic products. Both the bottle and the dropper are declared suitable for contact with cosmetics; the declaration of conformity and test certificates are available with the product. A food contact certificate is available separately for the glass bottle; the set with dropper is not intended for food.

What the set is suitable for

  • Facial serums – water-based and oil-based serums applied a few drops at a time to the face or décolleté area.
  • Oil blends and facial oils – blends of plant oils, oil elixirs for hair, beard or cuticles, where the dropper allows precise application.
  • Tinctures and alcoholic extracts – glass is resistant to alcohol and does not absorb the scent or colour of the contents.
  • Concentrates and active solutions – preparations that are dispensed precisely and in small quantities, for example to be added to a cream before use.

How the set works

The dropper consists of a silicone bulb, a threaded plastic collar and a glass tube that reaches almost to the bottom of the bottle. Squeezing the bulb draws up the contents; releasing it dispenses drop by drop. Thin water-based serums dispense faster, so it is advisable to squeeze the bulb gently.

The dropper collar has a thread matching the bottle neck, so the set seals without additional inserts. Caps with the same thread type and other ready-made combinations can be found in the Handymade range. With your own combination, we recommend verifying the seal, dispensing and the behaviour of the packaging with the specific formulation.

Fill the bottle to the nominal volume, not to the brim. The difference between the nominal and the total volume up to the neck is a reserve for the glass tube of the dropper, which displaces some content when screwed in, and for the expansion of the contents with temperature changes. An overfilled bottle will overflow when closed.

Good to know

Clear glass does not protect the contents from light. It is therefore suitable for preparations that are less sensitive to light, or for products that the customer stores in a box or drawer. For oils prone to oxidation and for serums containing light-sensitive ingredients (for example vitamin C in ascorbic acid form or retinoids), consider amber or cobalt blue glass instead, or supplement the set with a cardboard outer packaging.

Before the first fill, wash both the bottle and the dropper, disinfect with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol and allow to dry completely. Residual water in the tube could introduce moisture into an anhydrous oil or dilute an alcoholic tincture. The bottle can be reused after thorough cleaning. We recommend replacing the silicone dropper bulb after prolonged use if it softens or loses its elasticity.

The dropper and concentrated essential oils. Both the silicone and the plastic of the collar may alter their properties with prolonged contact with concentrated essential oils, solvents or high proportions of alcohol. With standard facial serums and diluted oil blends this is not an issue; with concentrates we recommend verifying performance on a single sample over several weeks.

Glass and heat. Do not fill the bottle with hot contents and do not expose it to sudden temperature changes. Fill only after the preparation has cooled to room temperature.

Labelling. Transparent labels also work well on clear glass, keeping the contents visible.

The set is not intended for dispensing food oils, syrups or dietary supplements. A food contact certificate is available only for the glass bottle itself; the dropper does not have one.

Glass is recycled as glass waste. The dropper is unscrewed before recycling and disposed of separately, as it combines plastic, silicone and glass.

Frequently asked questions

Is a clear glass dropper bottle suitable for facial serum with vitamin C?
For serums with pure ascorbic acid, clear glass is not the most suitable choice, as it does not protect the contents from light. Vitamin C in this form oxidises faster in light and the serum darkens. A clear bottle is better suited to more stable derivatives or serums that are stored in the dark. For sensitive active ingredients, we recommend amber or cobalt blue glass.
How much content fits in a 50 ml dropper bottle?
The bottle is intended to be filled to the nominal volume of 50 ml. The total volume up to the neck is larger, but this reserve ensures that the glass tube of the dropper does not push the contents out when screwed in and that the preparation has room to expand. Filling to the brim will cause the bottle to overflow when closed.
Can a glass dropper bottle be reused?
Yes, the bottle is suitable for repeated filling after washing and disinfection. Glass does not absorb the scent or colour of the previous contents. Wash the dropper including the tube, rinse with ethanol or isopropyl alcohol and allow to dry. If the silicone bulb softens, yellows or loses its elasticity, replace it with a new dropper.
Is a glass dropper bottle suitable for tinctures and alcoholic extracts?
Yes, glass is resistant to alcohol and the alcoholic contents will not damage it. With tinctures containing a high proportion of alcohol, we recommend monitoring the silicone dropper bulb, which is subjected to more stress with prolonged contact with concentrated alcohol than with water-based or oil-based contents. With standard herbal tinctures, it is sufficient to monitor the dropper's performance periodically.
Is the glass dropper bottle approved for food contact?
The set as a whole is not approved for food contact. A direct food contact certificate is available separately for the glass bottle; the dropper does not have this certificate, so the set is intended for cosmetic products. For home oils or syrups, we recommend combining the bottle with a closure that has food suitability listed in its parameters.
How does the dropper dispense thick oils?
Thick oils, such as castor oil or rich oil blends, are drawn up by the dropper more slowly and in smaller amounts than a thin serum. Drop-by-drop dispensing remains functional; it is simply necessary to squeeze the bulb more firmly and wait a moment for the tube to fill. For very thick or waxy preparations, a pump or narrow-neck bottle is more suitable.
