Product description
Glass bottle with dropper, 50 ml is a ready-made set for precise drop-by-drop dispensing – a clear glass bottle and white dropper with a tamper-evident ring that fit together without searching for a cap. Suitable for facial serums, oil serums, oil blends for skin and hair or custom concentrates where the product needs to be dispensed in small amounts without finger contact. The transparent glass shows the colour and clarity of the contents, making it especially suitable where you want the product to be visible.
The set is declared as suitable for contact with cosmetics, the declaration of conformity and test reports are available with the product. The test report for direct food contact applies to the glass bottle separately; the set as a whole is intended for cosmetics.
What the set is suitable for
- Facial serums and oil serums – the dropper dispenses precisely the few drops typically applied to the skin, and the contents are not contaminated during dispensing.
- Facial and hair oils – glass does not react with oils, does not absorb their scent and does not soften, which is an advantage over plastic.
- Concentrates and blends for dilution – for example, fragrance blends for bases where dosing is counted in drops.
- Samples and smaller batches – 50 ml is a volume a producer can use up in a reasonable time, making it suitable for testing formulations before larger-scale production.
For water-based tonics or products applied to a larger surface, the dropper is slow. A different type of closure is more practical there. Closures with the same neck type (stated in the parameters) and other ready-made combinations can be found in the Handymade range. With a custom combination, we recommend verifying the seal, dispensing, and container behaviour with the specific formulation.
How the set works
The dropper consists of a glass tube for drawing up the contents, a silicone bulb and a plastic screw cap. The tube reaches almost to the bottom of the bottle, so the contents can be dispensed even with the last few millilitres. Squeezing the bulb with the tube submerged draws the product in; releasing it dispenses drop by drop. The dropper screws onto the neck like a standard cap.
The tamper-evident ring on the cap breaks when first unscrewed. The customer can thus see that the packaging has not been opened since it was filled, which is useful particularly when selling finished products.
Fill the bottle to the nominal volume, not to the brim. The difference between the nominal volume and the total volume to the brim is the allowance for the dropper tube, which pushes some of the contents upward when screwed in, and for expansion of the contents with temperature change. An overfilled bottle will overflow when closing.
Good to know
Clear glass does not protect the contents from light. For oils prone to oxidation, essential oils or active ingredients sensitive to light (such as vitamin C or retinoids) amber or blue glass is more suitable, or storage in the dark in a box. A clear bottle is a good choice for light-stable contents and where the product's appearance is part of the presentation.
Preparation before first filling. We recommend washing both the bottle and the dropper before use, disinfecting with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol and allowing to dry completely. Residual water in an oil-based product promotes microbial growth and impairs stability.
Silicone bulb and concentrated contents. Both glass and polypropylene tolerate oils, alcoholic solutions and most cosmetic ingredients. With undiluted essential oils and solvents, we recommend checking the bulb's behaviour over time – with prolonged contact with a concentrate it may soften or lose elasticity. Standard diluted serums and oils do not cause this problem.
Heat. Glass can withstand filling with warmer contents, but a sharp temperature shock (hot contents into a cold bottle) may crack it. Allow the product to cool to at least lukewarm temperature before filling. Attach the dropper only when the contents have cooled, to prevent pressure building up in the bulb.
Reuse and label. The bottle can be reused after washing and disinfecting. The dropper with a broken tamper-evident ring continues to function, it just no longer indicates integrity.
Recycling. The bottle goes in the glass bin. The dropper is a combination of glass, silicone and plastic – before disposing of it, disassemble it into the tube, bulb and cap and sort by material.
The dropper is not leak-proof when turned upside down in the way a solid cap is. When transporting finished products, secure the bottle in an upright position or plan for additional protection.
