Product description

A glass dropper bottle with a volume of 50 ml is a complete set for dispensing liquid preparations drop by drop. Milky frosted glass diffuses direct light, making it particularly suitable for facial serums, facial and hair oils, oil blends with essential oils, tinctures and concentrates where precise dosing matters. The white matte dropper complements the bottle both visually and functionally. The set looks cohesive and requires no additional closures.

The set is declared as suitable for contact with cosmetic products. The declaration of conformity is available with the product.

Why frosted glass and a dropper

  • Light diffusion – milky frosted glass lets through less direct light than clear glass, which helps the oil or serum stored on a bathroom shelf. With very sensitive ingredients (such as vitamin C or retinol in an oil phase), we still recommend storing the preparation away from direct sunlight.
  • Chemical stability of glass – glass does not react with essential oils, alcohol or vegetable oils and does not absorb scents. The same bottle can therefore be reused without transferring the scent of the previous contents.
  • Precise dosing – the dropper allows you to dispense a few drops without finger contact with the contents. With serums and active oils, this is more practical and hygienic than pouring from the neck.
  • Cohesive look – frosted glass with a white matte collar and bulb looks clean. It suits minimalist labels as well as brands that build on a natural aesthetic.

The dropper in practice

The dropper consists of a glass tube, a flexible silicone bulb and a plastic screw collar made of PP. The tube length is matched to the height of the bottle, so it reaches close to the bottom and the contents can be used up with almost no residue.

Drop size depends on the viscosity of the contents. Light oils and aqueous serums drip quickly and in small drops. Thicker serums with gel-forming ingredients or heavy oils (castor, avocado) draw up more slowly and produce larger drops. With thick serums, we recommend testing in advance whether the preparation draws up comfortably through the dropper.

When dispensing drops, hold the bottle vertically with the tip pointing down and press the bulb slowly. Full compression draws up more liquid than the tube can hold, and some may remain in the bulb where it is harder to clean.

Filling and volume

The bottle is designed for a nominal volume of 50 ml. The total brim-full volume stated in the specifications is slightly larger. This difference is not room for topping up, but a reserve for the submerged dropper tube and for expansion of the contents with temperature changes. It should therefore be filled to the nominal volume, not to the brim.

For filling smaller batches, a measuring cup or a filling funnel with a narrow neck will help. The bottle neck has an 18/410 thread, so it can be combined with other closures of the same neck type from the Handymade range. Ready-made tested combinations are available in the e-shop. For a custom combination, we recommend verifying the seal and closure performance with the specific formulation.

Good to know

  • Preparation before first fill – we recommend washing both the bottle and the dropper, rinsing with alcohol (ethanol or isopropyl alcohol) and allowing to dry completely. Residual water in the tube would cause cloudiness in oil-based preparations.
  • Reuse – both the glass bottle and the dropper can be used again after thorough washing. Rinse the silicone bulb separately to prevent any old contents remaining inside.
  • Concentrated essential oils and solvents – glass tolerates them without issue. With the silicone bulb and plastic collar, we recommend checking with highly concentrated blends or solvents whether they soften or change shape over time.
  • Temperature – fill the bottle with a cooled preparation. Allow hot oil infusions or freshly made serums to cool to room temperature first. Sudden temperature changes are not good for glass, and the dropper would be fitted under pressure.
  • Recycling – the bottle goes in the glass recycling. The dropper is made of multiple materials; before disposal, we recommend separating the glass tube from the silicone bulb and the plastic collar.

The set is intended for cosmetic preparations. We do not recommend it for household oils, syrups or other food products — neither the bottle nor the dropper is certified for food contact.

Frequently asked questions

Does the milky frosted glass of the dropper bottle protect the contents from light as well as amber glass?
Not entirely. Milky frosted glass diffuses direct light and lets through less than clear glass, but dark amber glass absorbs a larger portion of the light spectrum. For everyday facial oils and serums, frosted glass is sufficient. With very photosensitive ingredients, we recommend storing away from direct sunlight or using amber glass.
How much does the 50 ml glass dropper bottle actually hold?
The bottle is filled to the nominal volume of 50 ml. The brim-full volume is slightly larger, but this difference is a reserve for the submerged dropper tube and for expansion of the contents with heat. If filled right to the neck, the contents would overflow when the dropper is inserted and would press on the closure when warmed.
Is the glass dropper bottle suitable for oil serums with essential oils?
Yes, glass is suitable for both essential oils and carrier vegetable oils — it does not react with them and does not absorb scent. With highly concentrated essential oil blends, we recommend monitoring the silicone dropper bulb for signs of softening over time. At typical dilutions in a carrier oil, this is not an issue.
Can the glass dropper bottle be reused, and how is it cleaned?
Yes, both the glass bottle and the dropper can be reused after washing. Wash the bottle with warm water and dish soap, rinse with alcohol and leave to dry upside down. Disassemble the dropper, rinse the silicone bulb and tube separately, and allow all parts to dry completely so that residual water does not cloud the oil contents.
Is the glass dropper bottle also suitable for aqueous tonics or hydrolates?
It is suitable, but the dropper is most practical for preparations dispensed drop by drop — serums, oils and concentrates. Tonics and hydrolates are applied in larger amounts, so a spray pump with the same neck type is more convenient for them. Aqueous preparations in this bottle must always be preserved; neither the glass nor the dropper protects them from microbial growth.
